Here's to you, Here's to me

"Maybe our girlfriends are our soul mates and guys are just people to have fun with." Sex and the City

Oprah has Gayle, Laverne has Shirley, Winne the Pooh has piglet, and I have...well I have my cashmere mafia. I am truly blessed to have an amazingly loving family and to top that off more than one best friend. I was recently watching "The Talk", another show that I dvr. On that episode, they were talking about how every woman needs to have a best friend. You need that one friend who completely understands you, laughs with you, cries with you, lets you act a complete fool, listens to you go on and on about a dumb boy and will be there for you no matter what. I am so fortunate that I can count on multiple best friends. How did I get so lucky?? Each one of us brings something different to the table.
Miss Football, is the "counselor" of the group...I always go to her when I need a reality check...I tend to over analyze EVERYTHING and she is always there, to slap me back into reality, if you will. Honey, puts everything into perspective, she always has the exact perfect answer for everything and if she doesn't...well, she is really good at making something up and Bestie, lets just say if I was to go to jail for any reason, she wouldn't be there to bail me out...she would be sitting right next to me. Every girl needs friends like these. We have all had our share of heartbreaks, losses, successes, the loss of a best friend, moves to another country...stupid China...we all came together from different places and became friends at college. They say, the friends you make in college will be your friends for life...I believe this to be true. You grow and change in college and these are the girls that are growing and changing right along with you. They love you for the good and the bad. I know I can call on anyone of these girls at any given time and if I needed them bad enough they would move mountains to get to where I was and I would do the same for them. As we get into our late twenties...I hate to say that, but its true. We are venturing into new experiences...marriages and babies will be in our future soon, before you know it we will be 4 forty something ladies reminiscing about the good ol days. We might not all live in the same place, but we all do our very best to stay in touch as much as possible, I can't say that for some of my other friends. Friendship is just like any other relationship and you have to work at it...luckily for us...we don't have to try very hard! I will leave you with this little toast Bestie likes to say every time we are together, "Here's to you, here's to me, best friends we will always be, but if you screw me, then @#$* you and here's to me!!
I love you, my cashmere mafia...here's to many many more memories!!

XOXO,
Lyndse

very true about "friends" and "so called friends". You all hold a very special bond that no one can break and that is special.

Love this---new favorite blog that you've written! It's so true--we're lucky girls! And, it probably is a good thing that one of us has a law degree. Just saying. :)
