It because I want my own tour bus

Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.Unknown

I love music. Plain and simple. Music soothes me, makes me happy, makes me sad, it definitely sparks emotion. My blog is even created by a line in one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers. The line "I was born a red dirt girl" is from Miranda Lambert's song, "Airstream Trailer." If you have not purchased her CD yet, you should...you are for sure missing out. It's called Revolution.  Now, that I am done plugging...back to the point at hand. Music. Now, I have no music abilities whatsoever, I can not sing...even though I like to think I can, never learned how to play a musical instrument, however, I am sure I can play a mean tambourine, but music is a big part of my life.

I love all kinds of music, except for the funky techno stuff...that's just weird. I love everything from old classic country like George Jones, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash all the way to Lady Gaga...ya, thats a wide variety of music. I love red dirt music, like Randy Rogers Band, Johnny Cooper, Jason Bolland, Stoney LaRue and I love your basic mainstream country, like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Carrie and Miranda. I didn't forget the main man...just wanted to save the best for last..King George Strait. My favorite thing to do is to go to concerts with good friends, and listen to some good ol music.

Luke Bryan and I : )

There is always that one song that takes you back in time and reminds you of someone, or something. Red dirt songs remind me of college and backroading with some of my best friends. "Baby Blue" by George Strait reminds me of my bestie, because she loves that song and it makes her think of her dad, "Wild Wild West" by the Escape Club reminds me of my bestie once again and how we would drive to that song, windows down, music blaring, singing and dancing in her old pick up truck. I love how a song just takes you back to that moment when you first heard it, or when a song comes on that you "just have to dance to" for me that song is always "The Chair" or "Amarillo by Morning" by George Strait.
Bestie and I

Its pretty obvious I could go on and on about my favorite songs and what they mean to me, but I don't have all day...I do...but I should do something productive. Like figure out how I can get my own tour bus, so I can "pretend" to be a country singer or figure out how I can marry a country singer...that would be perfect. So, next time you hear your favorite song...whatever it may be or wherever you may be...please get up and dance.

XOXO,
Lyndse

i have heard you sing and you can sing. I can remember driving "papas" old blue 1-ton truck shifting gears listening to John Cougar (yes, in my old day, it was just Cougar)going to the lake and having a good time. I want to be the first to ride in your "tour bus".

Everytime I hear some Red Dirt music I think of college too! So many great concerts we went too, and it was always blaring from our ipods.
