Inspire me 2

Photobucket

Week 2 of "Inspire me: Healthy"

First, thank you all for your sweet comments and your words of encouragement last week after my post. It means so much to me that I have y'all to keep me motivated and for us all to keep one another motivated as well.
That's what I love about this link-up...the huge support system behind it.

With that being said...I have yet to get back into a solid work out routine. The last week has sort of been a whirlwind of sorts, so I am taking to Pinterest today and posting some of my favorite work out finds that I like and that I have done in the past.

What I am going to try and focus on is HIIT--High Intensity Interval Training, and weight training.

HIIT workouts, explained!

Jillian Michaels loves some HIIT...it's such a good and effective way to shed the lbs and to get your heart rate high.

Here are a few HIIT workouts I plan on trying

The Tone It Up girls are really awesome and giving good work outs

Time to get inspired

Helllooooo there.

Guess what...it's still hot here in Oklahoma...so hot in fact, my car has officially given up and the temperature in my car has been stuck at 88 degrees for days.
I haven't seen 88 degrees since January I'm pretty sure.
Well...car...I feel you, I want it to be stuck at 88 also.

Moving on

Because I've been trying like crazy to get myself motivated and into a solid work out routine and eating clean  and trying to be good...but then I see a cookie or a piece of cake and it just speaks to me...I have decided I need to be held accountable.

Well, it just so happens that these pretty ladies Raven and Kristen are hosting a link up every Thursday called Inspire Me: Healthy
Photobucket

Let's face it...this is perfect for all of us...who couldn't use a little inspiration to be healthy plus we are already all bloggers and check out each others blogs...so this is the perfect way to keep everyone accountable.
This is a genius idea girls...and I'm glad y'all thought of it.

I love nutrition and eating healthy and once I get into a solid work out routine...I love the feeling after a great workout. It's those endorphin's people.
They are goood for you.
I love nutrition so much that is what I got me degree in from Oklahoma State...GOOO POKES!!
However, sometimes I love cookies, ice cream, anything that has 50lbs of sugar a whole lot more...plus eating all that and not moving your body...means lots of extra lbs on this ass.
Not anymore people.
I'm going to be 28 in like 24 days.
I want to finally have the body I've always wanted to have...and it will happen.
None of this self-conscious BS anymore...I want to fit back into my size 4 jeans that are just hanging in my closet waiting for me to finally get off my ass and do something.
Well, size 4 jeans...I'm coming at ya.

So...I will start posting every Thursday about my progress and some inspiration quotes, diet tips, etc. I have already begun this process last week...in fact...don't make fun, but I made my own inspiration board a week ago.

Whatever it takes, right..to be inspired.
I'm going to take my measurements later and I will post those too.

For now...I leave you with some inspiration to get healthy...to be at the best weight, to be toned, to finally run that race and complete that goal...whatever it is that you want to achieve...DO IT!!!

This is inspiring in two ways...who doesn't want those abs...and who doesn't want a guy with those abs...I mean, come on.

couples who work out together, stay together...dang, get it y'all!! This will be me and my husband...just wait and see.

Grab those running shoes and back into it!

So very true!

Yup

Ok...couch and DVR...I have to part ways with you...because it's time this ass fits back into those size 4's.
Peace out.

It's about that time

Hey y'all.

In over a month I turn 28.
twenty freaking eight.

It's not the turning a year older thing that is freaking me out...it's all the other stuff.
I'm slightly paranoid about  a lot of things, just ask my closest friends and my mom.

For example...if one more person tells me my eggs are depleting and I need to hurry up and find a man and get knocked up...I will punch you in the face...or better yet, your ovaries.
Sorryimnotsorry.

When people say stuff like this to me, I take straight to google and look up a bunch of stuff I probably shouldn't be reading...because, A. It's not true and B. By the time I've looked up all the stuff at Web MD...I've already diagnosed myself with five different diseases and whatnot.

Because I'm a crazy person.

However, there are a few things I know I need to work on that are legit and that I have been sort of slacking on in my younger years.
By there is no time like the present...plus nothing says your no spring chicken like almost being two years from thirty.

Things I'm working on:

1. A great skin care regimen.

For the most part I'm very good about my skin...in fact people think I'm a lot younger than what I really am all the time. I think I owe that much to genetics...I mean, look at my momma.

All the time people tell us we could be sisters....thanks for the good genes, Mom.

But my skincare could use some work. I always always wash my face before bed...well, that hasn't always been the case...but definitely more so now that I am no longer 21.
I wash my face in the morning and I always use moisturizer before my make-up and my moisturizer has SPF in it as well as my foundation.

I have heard great things about the Timewise skincare line by Mary Kay, but I hadn't ever used it. I went to a ladies house earlier this week and tried all of it.
Y'all...I'm not lying to you when I say this...my face felt a thousand times better. Honestly, it felt like a baby's bottom.
No lie.

Needless to say, this will become a regular in my skincare routine...actually, now I feel like I fully have a routine.
Of course if this doesn't work...bring on the botox.

2. Getting in shape

AMEN

I'm not sure how many times I have mentioned getting in shape and eating better on this here blog...probably a thousand. I really do start off great with great intentions, then a birthday happens, or a bachelorette party or a wedding...and I get off track.
Basically all that I wrote were just excuses.
Well, enough excuses...I've have spent the majority of my twenties fluctuating at my weight...and it's not even the weight...I just want to live a healthier lifestyle.
I want to like how my body looks in the mirror.
If I'm being honest, I want to look good naked.
I mean, who doesn't?
I feel like I'm doing a disservice to my degree(I have a bachelor's in Nutritional Science and Dietetics) by being a fat ass.
Tis true.
Well, enough of that nonsense...I want spend the latter part of my twenties being healthy and in good shape.
It's all about prevention...at least that's what all those google searches keep telling me.

So, bring it on 28.
I'm ready for ya...and I'm gonna kick yo ass.

Motivation

I've been struggling with some motivation.

Motivation to change my habits...to stick with a workout routine and to be overall healthy.

I have my moments, my weeks or months where I am full in 100% giving it all I have, and then life happens and I commit to things and by the time I'm done doing 101 things, I am too tired to do anything.
(I know, I know...excuses...but we ALL have them)
Whether it be to eat a healthy dinner or to go for a run.
I usually just succumb to ice cream and Bravo.

Motivation to get healthy...and I choose to use the word healthy...because to me healthy is not just about being skinny...it's a lifestyle.

me too! :) great, great stuff

Here lately it seems I just couldn't find the motivation...yes, swimsuit pictures from my vacation should be a damn good reason enough to get my fat ass off the couch...but it still didn't stop me from eating those cookies.

Motivation can come from anywhere or anyone...in my case...my motivation is coming from someone.

I have a dear sweet friend, April, who is my inspiration to get healthy. I am so proud at the accomplishments that she has been making. Just in the past month since she has changed her eating habits and has worked out with a personal trainer every day...she has lost over15lbs.

15 freaking lbs.

But it's not just about the lbs...yes, obviously those are important...and what girl doesn't want to lose that much.

What's important is that she is doing it, that she has found her strength, her courage, and her  reason for living a healthy life.

.

Two years ago this coming Christmas...my friend went through something no parent should ever have to go through.  Her daughter passed away from a courageous fight against MS. The MS came on strong and just took over her sweet girls body.

As you know, time heals all wounds...and with time, my friend finds comfort and healing...and part of her healing is getting healthy.
She is doing it for her daughter and more importantly she is doing it for herself.

No one said it would be easy...getting up at 4 or 5 every morning, saying no to all those things you love...but she loves her life more...and she wants to honor her daughters life.

Every morning when she goes to the gym...she wears a bracelet in memory of her daughter...to remind her that this may suck right now...but it does get better and that she will be better for it.

Her daughter is her inspiration.

She, my friend,is my motivation.

Myself...me, being healthy...that is my goal.

What's your motivation?
