I love...

Happy Wednesday y'all!!

I am so excited that it is Wednesday for two reasons. One that means it's time for What I am loving and two, tomorrow I will be on a plane headed west to SAN FRANCISCO!!!

I bet you can guess what the first thing is that I am loving today...SAN FRANCISCO, tomorrow!

I am loving that I am going to Napa, going to sing karaoke, have a picnic by golden gate bridge, run in the San Francisco Marathon, well the 5k and most of all spending the next five days with my best friends in the entire world. I am SO loving this!!

SF circa 2008

I am loving my baby brother, as always,.he will be starting his very first semester off at college in just a few short weeks. I am so proud of him.

I am always loving my amazing momma...who does everything for me, including watching my dog children while I live it up in San Fran. Thanks mom, love you!

I am loving that my boss is pregnant. Yes, I love the fact that there will be a new little bambino for me to spoil and play with, but more importantly I am loving that come three in the afternoon she wants cupcakes, cookies, or sonic happy hour drinks...this makes me very happy because I get them too...however, I am sure I won't be loving my waistline or booty if I keep this up.

What are you lovely ladies loving today, go here!

Blueberries

Did y'all know that July is national blueberry month??

I love me some blueberries. Blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, blueberry crumbles...yum yum yum.

In fact I love anything berry. Strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, cherry berry( I realize this is a frozen yogurt place, but still).

Thought I would share with y'all a healthy Blueberry recipe. Blueberries are super good for you too, they are full of antioxidants, only 80 calories for a cup of blueberries(fat free btw), they are packed with vitamin C, fiber, and manganese(which helps with your bones).

I know these things, I have a bachelor's degree in Nutrition ; )

Blueberry-Lemon Muffins

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup low-fat buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons butter or stick margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
    Preparation
    • Preheat oven to 400°.
    • Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients (flour through salt) in a medium bowl. Stir in blueberries; make a well in center of mixture. Combine buttermilk, butter, rind, and egg; stir well with a whisk. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moist.
    • Spoon batter into 12 muffin cups coated with cooking spray; sprinkle evenly with 1 tablespoon sugar. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove muffins from pans immediately; place on a wire rack.

It's Monday, need I say more

Good Morning Ladies...hope everyone had a great weekend.

I spent my weekend trying to stay indoors because it's freakin hot.

However, Saturday was spent moving furniture from one house to another...can I just say that moving furniture when it's 200 degrees outside is ridiculous.

    Ridiculous.

Speaking of weather and how crazy insane hot it's been. This is the forecast for Oklahoma this week

    Which is nothing new...

This is the weather for San Francisco for the week...

    5 Day Forecast

I think I like these temps a lot better...it will be a nice change.

Just a few more days and I will be there : )

I am so excited I don't think I will get any work done the next three days.

    Texting and dating

So, yesterday I was bored. Day dreaming about how I wanted to leave work and go put my swimsuit on, grab some ice cold beer, my floaty and head to the lake and just float...I'd prefer a beach somewhere but this is Oklahoma and the lake is the closet thing I have.

    Tear.

Instead I surfed the net and stumbled across this article about dating in this modern age. I know that I rely on texting way to much to communicate. I talk to few people on the phone, mainly my mom, best friends and my Nana, because Lord knows that lady can barely turn on her computer much less text me.

    Love you Nana!

Texting is just so much easier I think. It's nice to just send a quick text like, "Hope you are having a great day!" or to schedule a dinner date or lunch date or whatever. Everyone is busy during the day and it's faster and more convenient this way.

However, there are certain things that should not be said via text messaging and this article sums it up.

    1. Saying I love you for the first time
For the love of pete, don’t screw this one up. You only get to say “I love you” for the first time once. Even if you drop the “I,” it still counts.
    2. Anything about being anywhere near your ex
If you’re friends with your ex, power to you. If there’s really nothing going on there, you shouldn’t have to bend over backwards to make sure that whoever you’re dating now doesn’t get jealous. However, saying that you have plans with your ex, in your actual, spoken voice is just common courtesy. Information dropped over text has a tendency to become a bigger deal than it has to be.
    3. You’ve been “feeling weird” about things
    “WHATDOYOUMEANYOU’VEBEENFEELINGWEIRDABOUTTHINGS?!?!”
Vague + Scary + Not-Actually-Available-To-Talk-About-It = Panic on the part of whoever you’re dating. Even the most cool-headed dater is likely to “feel weird” about your “feeling weird.” Figure out what you actually mean, then call or say it in person.
    4. You might be pregnant
Cool. I “might” not freak out. Try to remember when you’re texting someone that they could be anywhere. Like work. Or at dinner with their mother. For example.
    5. You’re pissed off/disappointed
Fighting over text is stupid. Even if you’re REALLY ANGRY, sending a text message into the ether isn’t going to make you feel any better about it. Take a deep breath. Either write something neutral or nothing at all. Then yell at them next time you see them in person.
    6. Breaking up
Come on. You know better than that, don't you?
(I feel as though this is the modern version of a post it...anyone remember that episode on Sex and the City?)

    Have a great day ladies!

    What I am loving

It's Wednesday and it's time for what I am loving....

I am loving that I found the perfect dog boarding place for my fur babies. It is called Camp Bow Wow...I am so excited to drop them off for their "interview" process...mainly they have to behave themselves as they interact with other dogs. Hopefully they will be on their best behavior because this place is amazing.

I am loving that in 8 DAYS I WILL BE ON A PLANE HEADED TO SAN FRANCISCO WITH THE BESTIES!!! Can you sense my excitement??

I am loving that I will be in a place where the weather requires me to wear a light jacket. I love my summers, but this 107 plus temps are getting a little ridiculous. I don't fix my hair and make-up just so I can walk outside and have it melt away and my hair get flat and frizzy. Me no likie.

I am loving these video's posted on Blake Shelton's website...he is hilarious!  I love him and have decided that I would be ok marry a guy just like him. Miranda is one lucky lady.

and if you haven't gotten a copy of his new album, "Red River Blue" you must go get a copy now...because it is amazing!

What are y'all loving today, visit Jamie and tell us all about it.

    Best.Concert.Ever

Morning Loves, hope everyone had a great weekend!

This morning I woke up with no voice and I can barely here in my right ear, why you ask? Because I went to hands down THE BEST CONCERT I have ever been to(not including George Strait, bc no one is better than him).

I got to live out my childhood dream and not only see New Kids on the Block but Backstreet Boys and let me tell you. If it was ok for a 26 year old woman to put up posters of Donnie Wahlburg and Joey McIntyre I would.

    In a heartbeat.

I don't think I stopped smiling and giggling like a little school girl the whole night.

    It was AWESOME!!

I wish I had better pictures for you, but my camera has seen better days and my phone just didn't do the concert justice.

Bri and I...we could hardly contain our excitement the whole night. We had a blast!!

Please excuse my deer in the headlight look...

Thank you bestie for the tickets!!

One thing I didn't like about the concert, the fact I still can barely hear out of my ear...please tell me my hearing will come back : )

    Have a great day loves!

    Randomness

    Happy Wednesday loves.

As I type this it is pouring down rain outside...can I get an Amen? Thank you Lord for this rain, we have been having some extreme temps with no rain in sight, so hopefully this will be what all the ranchers, farmers, and people with gardens are needing.

Got to feed and water those animals.

Anyway, enough about the weather, I have something completely and totally random to talk about.

Something that is so out of the blue, it's crazy.

Ok, so yesterday at work I had just got back from lunch and barely had sat down when I looked out the window and saw this really cute guy walking up. He was tan, had black hair that was fixed really stylish was dressed really nice, like business attire nice. Well, he came in to where I work and he is a salesmen, which is nothing out of the ordinary for my office because lots of reps come in all the time.

He took off those RayBan's and flashed his pearly whites and started his sales pitch. For what I don't know because I was just enamored by his looks. I think he was selling office supplies or something.

Now, luckily for me...yesterday I actually took a shower and fixed my hair other than wearing it in a pony tail every day, so I looked somewhat presentable. I guess I looked fairly presentable because he continues to talk to me for like a solid couple of hours, because why should I work, when I can talk to a cute guy, right?

Long story short, the dude asks me out on a date.

How's that for a random Tuesday afternoon at work?

A sales rep comes in and tries to sell me something and instead I get asked out on a date. Maybe that is part of his sales tactic? I don't really care, because he is HOTT!

    Holla!

Oh and he texted me shortly after that too.

    I will keep y'all updated....

Happy girls are the prettiest girls

Morning pretty girls...hope you all are having the best day so far.

A couple of weekends ago when I was at the lake I had an epiphany. Well, maybe not then I had it, but I have thought long and hard and taken it in and now I have had an epiphany.

What is this epiphany I speak of you are wondering, well it's not anything that will cure cancer or world hunger or world peace.

    Actually, I guess it could.

My epiphany is that I am judgemental. Some of you who know me are thinking to yourselves, "How is this your epiphany? We have known this for quite sometime."

Yes, I will admit I am quite judgemental, but aren't we all? If anything, I am more harsh and judgemental on myself. What girl isn't hard on themselves, right? At least one time or another.
While I was at the lake, I was completely myself. I wasn't trying to impress anyone, or get all dolled up, who was I going to impress with my expensive make-up and volumized hair. The fishies? The hott guys? Certainly not them, they were no where in sight. The hott guy's anyway...the fishies were too much in the open...eek.

I don't think I washed my hair in days. Gross, yes...but I was at the lake...what was the point? I hadn't put make-up on since Friday morning when I went to work.

In fact I don't know how many times I was reminded at how much my freckles on my face were showing. Thanks a lot sun.

Even with my hair a hot mess, my freckles making their grand appearance, a little girl told me I was pretty.

She saw my natural beauty and thought I was pretty. The same beauty I see when I take a shower or remove my make-up, the same beauty that I try to cover up because  I sometimes think it's not beautiful.

Who was she to say this anyway? She wasn't trying to impress me or say something nice to me so I would like her, she was honest and true.

Why don't we see things the way a child view's things. So innocent and pure? We only see the flaws, we only see what we want to improve.

As women we are incredibly hard on ourselves. Always trying to out do or out pretty someone else. We see someone with big boobs and we want them, someone with a small ass and we want that. Straight hair girls want curly hair and visa versa.

So we wake up one morning with a pimple the size of Texas after a slight panic attack we go on about our day. Usually if you don't acknowledge that it is there, no one will see it. No one notice's the tiny little flaws we see.

I don't think that little girl knew that by her saying I was pretty that day would have such an impact on me, whatever her reasons for saying it...I am glad she did.

Sometimes you just need to hear it, what better way to hear it than when you are least expecting it.

    BFF vs. BF

Hola Amiga's...you like my espanol this morning?

I'm bilingual...not really. The only Spanish I have ever learned has been from Jose at Senor Tequila's.

Any who, enough about my non-Spanish speaking self...I think it's time for a single gal girl power post.

    I know you are excited.

Sadly, I can't take credit for this, I found it whilst avoiding work and surfing the Internet.

    It's what I do best...avoiding work.

I find this article fitting because just the other day Miss Football and I were talking and over-analyzing everything(it's what we do best) and we said that we are going to have a non-boy talk week. We are striking them from our daily lives just like we are striking sugar from our diet.

I think the no-sugar thing will be easier.

    or not, I just ate a peanut-butter M&M...oops.

We are just so over being single and dating and waiting for those dumb guys to text us or call us or whatever.

    O.V.E.R IT!

This article found here is just what the doctor ordered.

Believe it: a true friend is way more valuable than a boyfriend. The same is true when you're 26 as when you're 86. So while some of you may be scrambling to meet a guy or working overtime to make a relationship happen, just remember that your best friend is for life. The guys will come and go — and they'll cause a lot of drama in between. In case you need a reminder, I've listed 20 reasons a BFF is more important than a BF!

    1. A best friend doesn't care if you haven't shaved your legs or painted your nails today.
    2. A best friend doesn't make you watch boxing on TV.
    3. A best friend is equally as literate in The Bachelor and DWTS as you are.
    4. A best friend doesn't booty call you.
    5. A best friend isn't concerned whether you're Julia Child or not.
    6. You won't have to diet to meet your best friend's mom.
    7. A best friend doesn't talk about marriage just because s/he thinks it's what you want to hear.
    8. A best friend doesn't spook at the word "baby."
    9. A best friend understands your issues about bangs, periods, nasty bosses, push-up bras, straightening irons, and driving in heels, because she has the same issues.
    10. A best friend can listen to a complaint because that's how we communicate.
    11. When all the men have left, your best friend will still be there.
    12. If a best friend puts his/her career ahead of you for even one night, you can tell the person to snap out of it, and s/he'll agree with you.
    13. None of your best friend's Facebook friends will make you jealous.
    14. A best friend always puts the toilet seat down.
    15. A best friend will not only wait for you to get ready — she'll help you get ready.
    16. You never have to suck in your stomach for a best friend.
    17. A best friend is fine with you wearing a dress that looks like a tent.
    18. A best friend carries spare feminine products on her person at all times.
    19. On vacation, a best friend can work on her tan for nine straight hours, just like you can.
    20. When you're in the mood for chocolate, your best friend is also in the mood for chocolate.

I'd say this is quite perfect and so so true : )

    Adios loves

    I confess

    T.G.I.F

I know it was only a four day week...but it was a LONG four day week.

I think today is the perfect day to link up with Mamarazzi and do a little confessions, sound good?
    Photobucket

I confess....that lat night for dinner I had pickles. Yes, just pickles. I know, not really your balanced diet, but I have no groceries, I am too lazy to go to the grocery store and big brother started last night. I didn't want to go anywhere.

I confess....that after I ate the pickles(like way after) I had a slice of key lime pie. Yes, it has dairy and yes I should have ran instead of eating that key lime pie, but it tasted so good.

I confess....that I gave my dog bella a haircut and let's just say I can't help but laugh every time she walks away from me. All I am saying is if a dog could have a dog mullet, she has one. I will not take pictures as I do not want to embarrass her like that.

I confess...that I never said I was good at giving haircuts.

I confess...that I have been facebook stalking a former ex who is getting married next Saturday. Don't judge me, you know you have done it to!

I confess...that I have worn my hair in a pony tail everyday this week. I haven't even put forth any effort at looking presentable.

I confess...I am still on lake time, and wish so badly to still be there.

I confess...that I would much rather be at home in my bed sleeping than to be at work.

That is all folks, hope you have a fabulous Friday loves!

Because we all could use the motivation

    or at least I can.

At the end of this month my three best friends and I are heading out to San Francisco to do a little wine tasting, eating and running. San Francisco Marathon. I am just doing the 5k, Miss Football is doing the half.

I was talking to her on the phone last night and we are both just to the point where we have no motivation. It's just so dang hot to get outside and run.

So, this morning I thought...enough with the excuses. I made a promise to myself that by my 27th birthday ( which is August 26 btw if you want to get me anything...wink wink) I would be in the best shape I have ever been in.

Have I done anything towards that? Not really. Why? Who knows, I am just lazy. Enough with sitting on my couch watching my DVR, I need to get out there and run.

I feel good when I run, I feel great after I run...I miss that feeling.

Thought these might help me to get off the couch and do something, hope they help you too : )

Hope everyone has a great day...now get off your ass and go run : )

    What I am loving

It's Wednesday which feels more like Tuesday, I love having a three day weekend and love having a four day week, but my days are seriously all screwed up.

Anyway, just a few things I am loving this week...

Well, my baby brother should be loving the fact that even though I feel the need to have a taser or a gun(to protect myself you know) that I don't actually have either. See, he decided it would be a fun idea to come into my house this morning at 2:00 am. I was in a dead sleep and my dogs went crazy, I popped out of bed and ran to the door and there he was entering. Scared me to death. He's now sleeping peacefully in the guest bedroom, probably will still be there asleep when I go home for lunch. Sure wish I could sleep until noon.

I am loving that Big Brother starts tomorrow...so excited!

I am loving that there is going to be a Smurf movie and a Winnie the Pooh movie

Yes, I am 26 but these are from my childhood...I have to go watch them....if there was a Fraggle rock movie coming out I would go watch that too!!

I am loving that bff miss football sent me this in the mail

The pink post-it reads...Lyndse, thought you could use the motivation : )

See, this is why I love her she is so subtle at telling me to get my fat ass off the couch and GO RUN!!! Gotta love her : )

and last but not least something that I am absolutely not loving right now is the fact that Casey Anthony was found not guilty on the most important charges. I am not going to get into it, but I will say this.

All I wanted from this trial is for that precious baby girl Caylee to finally be at peace and for all those who did love her I wanted them to finally be able to grieve for her and lay her to rest.

    That is all.

    Peace and love my lovelies.

A lot of sun, a ton of water and way too many margaritas

This title pretty much sums up THE BEST WEEKEND. EVER. Well, at least in a long time.

Over the holiday weekend me, bestie, my mom and bestie's mom had a girl's camping trip/lake party.

Let me tell you, us girl's know how to party.

I have no pictures, sorry...but it is probably best that I wasn't responsible for a camera...and let me tell you why.

Friday night bestie's boyfriend joined us along with another couple...so we youngsters drank the night away with margaritas, beer, and wine. We played cards(maybe in the form of strip poker) I am a poker player...so no worries here : ) we went night swimming in the lake...and at one point this gal decided I would run back to camp and I tripped and skid across the asphalt and got major road rash on my hand and my knee.

    Injury numero uno.

The next day was spent recovering from margaritas, so bestie and I pretty much just layed out in the water all day getting our tan on.

Injury numero dos is where I am pretty sure I broke my toe, there sure are some big ol rocks in lake water.

Sunday we rode jetski's all day, I lost my water shoes(note to self: water shoes don't float in water), floated, made friends with a couple of 9 and 12 year old girls who were the sweetest girls ever. One they said I was pretty(my hair hadn't been brushed in like two days and I had no make-up) and two they said I was skinny( in my two piece). I am gonna take these girls everywhere with me. Seriously. I through bestie off my jetski doing a 360 turn; I look like I have been run over by truck with all the bruises on my body...apparently jetski ridding is rough.

Sunday evening we decided to go tubing. Bestie's mom was driving the jetski, bestie when tubing first...she had a smooth ride, stayed on, hardly any waves, sky is clear, no clouds sun is out. They ride in and then it's my turn.

I get on, clouds start rolling in, waves start white capping, I proceed to get my ass kicked by these white capping crazy waves and literally fly 100ft in the air off my tub, come back up to the surface only to find that my bikini bottoms are not on me, but floating in the water beside me. Apparently, a storm decided to roll in while I was on the tube. So, you would think I would just get my bottoms, and pack up and head to shore, right? No...I get back on the tube for ass beating number 2.

I may have had a concussion after that ride.

That evening we packed most of our stuff and stayed in the camper. We were all sore, sun kissed, bruised and tired...but it seriously was the best weekend I have had in the longest time.

Nothing like waking up in the outdoors as the sun comes up, sitting outside having your coffee, spending your day doing whatever you want, no set schedule at all.

    It was awesome.

I can hardly move, and my body is covered in bruises and I have some weird tan lines, but it was perfect!
