Moves like Jagger

Have I mentioned that I love my Alma Mater? I mean, I really love them...I would say that I bleed orange. My OSU cowboys are ranked #5....GO POKES!!!

So, I may have found a video that makes me love my cowboys even more....and actually it has nothing to do with the football players but everything to do with our Coach Mike Gundy.

I mean, who doesn't love a football coach that has moves like Jagger, well maybe not Jagger...but he's got moves none the less....

** He doesn't start dancing until about 3 minutes in**

Pretty sure this made my Wednesday...know what else makes my Wednesday, knowing that Modern Family comes on tonight, I love that show. Hilarious.

Have a great day loves

Dearest Monday

Dear Monday,

I'm sure you know this by now, but I am not that found of you. It's really not your fault that you have such a bad rap. No one wants to wake up early and go back to work after having two days off. I am sure you wish your were more like Friday....everyone loves a good Friday. So, please don't take it personal when I woke up this morning cursing you. It's not you, really it's not, it's me. I am just so dang tired from the weekend and probably from the fact that I stayed up late watching my DVR.

That DVR is a blessing and a curse. I have the ability to record hundreds of shows, but while watching said hundreds of shows, I sit on my ass and consume 3 slices of apple pie. I realize that it's not mandatory to consume apple pie, but let's get real. It was there, I was there...it happened.

Now, you are wondering why this all relates to you. This morning while waking up and getting ready to go back to work, because it is Monday...as I am trying to find something to wear for work. Two problems. 1. I have nothing, absolutely nothing to wear to work and 2. I can not fit into anything. I feel bad that you get the blame for all this yelling and cursing this morning, when really it's the
DVR and apple pie's fault( it's my lazy ass fault for not running/working out) but I have to blame someone else.

I hope now you understand more of why you get such a bad rap and get the blame for most things. I promise to be nicer next Monday, and even nice to your pal Tuesday. Actually, I will be real nice to your buddy Thursday because I only work half a day that day and I leave to go to Dallas.

Until next week...

XOXO

Happy Fall Y'all

Two things...it's FINALLY Friday and it's FINALLY Fall...can I get an amen?!

I love summer, I really do...I am a summer girl...but good grief it was hot.

I am so thankful Fall is here and I hope it stays a long time(it usually doesn't here in Oklahoma)...I may love fall but I do not like winter. No thanks.

I have some fun fall bucket list so to speak, thanks to good ol' pinterest. What did I ever do with my time before Pinterest? I mean, really...where did I get ideas from?

I don't think I have done most things on this list in quite sometime, I love fall...and I feel as though I have not been using it to my advantage. I haven't gone to a pumpkin patch in forever, nor have I gone to an apple orchard. My mom and Nana and I used to go to this huge Arts and Crafts festival in Arkansas every fall break when I was a kid, we haven't gone in years. I think it's about time we do that again too.

Smore's...I can't think of that last time I had these tasty little treat...umm...pretty sure I need to make this happen.

I plan on decorating and carving pumpkins

Baking anything and everything that contains pumpkin...especially pumpkins pies

Thanksgiving dinner...Holla!! Can not wait to eat everything and lay around the rest of the day and not to forget watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it.

Side note-bucket list item...watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade live in New York

I noticed one little Fall bucket list item is go on a date...hey, maybe that will happen too : )

Have a great day loves!

Wtf, facebook!

I don't know about you but I am not to happy about the changes on Facebook. I just got used to the old changes and now I am more confused than ever.

I think this pretty much sums it up for me.

At least it's Wednesday and the workday is almost over...hurry up Friday!

What to be for Halloween

Okay ladies, I need your help. I need help in figuring out what to be for Halloween this year.

Should I go the ever popular choice of dressing a little risque, because everyone knows Halloween is the one and only night you can basically wear lingerie out in public and get away with it, right?

Last year I went as Lady Gaga and we had to stop by the liquor store to freshen up our beverages for the party, well I forgot my ID and wasn't allowed inside the liquor store, so I had to wait outside...as I am waiting outside all Lady Gaga like, a man approached me and asked me if I was a hooker.

I knew I should have gone with the meat dress gaga style instead of the leotard gaga.

You live you, you learn.

Anywho, here are some pictures of Halloween's past..

Halloween 06,Queen of Hearts....my friend Ash the boxer

Halloween 07 as lollipop girl, bestie is Dorothy and Bri is a boxer( I have a lot of friends who like to be boxers apparently)

Halloween 08, German Beer Girl

I didn't go to any Halloween parties in 09 : (

and last year I was Gaga...strangely enough I have no idea what happened to the pictures.

Ok, so ladies this is where I need your help. I need ideas on what to be. I thought about being Audrey Hepburn, think Breakfast at Tiffany's, but I have blonde hair.

So many choices, so little time.

What are y'all's favorite costumes?

Brain Dump

My bff Miss football does this Brain dump, where she just talks about random topics, so that is what I am going to do today.

Sometimes I get Brain and Brian and dairy and diary wrong when typing.

Just saying.

So, I am sick with allergies, a cold or whatever this is, and its kicking my butt. I can't hear, breathe out of my nose, swallow...you know pretty much all the above when it comes to being sick. The part I hate the most about being sick is when you are trying to sleep at night, you can't. Mainly because you can't breathe out of your nose. I hate that more than anything, enough about that.

Here were are middle of September just a few days from the first day of fall and I have yet to have a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. This upsets me, the reason being is the nearest Starbucks from me is like 30 minutes away. They shut my Starbucks down in my town a few years ago. Saddest day ever.

Can't a sick person just a get a Pumpkin Spice Latte, that's all I ask really...well, that and some homemade potato soup from my momma and some Kleenex with aloe for my poor little nose.

I never said I was an easy sick person.

I watched the ever anticipated Two and Half Men last night, must say I didn't really like the first five minutes or so, but when Ashton showed up and Alan freaked out and dropped the ashes, I laughed so hard. In the end, I think it will be pretty good. Now, if we can just get Ashton to shave and cut his hair, because he is so much prettier than that. His current look kinda reminds me of those cavemen from the Geico commercials.

I love that new show about the two broke girls, I think that is going to be hilarious.

Oh, before I forget if you could please go vote for my real life bff and blog bff Miss Football also known as Tiffany from Figuring out the Plot. She does this photo challenge once a week and she takes some amazingly beautiful photos, well this one show below was selected as the weeks favorite and is in the running for the month favorite. I believe you can vote once a day. I know she would love if you could just hop over there and vote for her, I would love it too. Just click here

I think that's all for now, I am off to make some hot tea and take some medicine and try and get some work done.

And then it was Monday

Happy Monday morning ladies.

I hope it's a good morning and that everyone's weekend was fab.

Let's see what did I do this weekend, Friday night I went out with my good friend Katie and shared a few pitchers of Margarita's and then went to the local bar here in town to just have a few beers and listen to some good ol' country music.

Let me just start out by saying, neither one of us had planned on going out there, so much so that we both dressed in hoodies and jeans.

So, we get to the bar and apparently there is some huge concert going on and everyone that is showing up is dressed way better than we are. Oh well, we don't care...who are we trying to impress anyway...we are two fun loving single ladies just out having some drinks.

Let me tell you, I had the best time. I think it's because I wasn't trying to impress anyone or looking for a cute cowboy or whatever, I was just chillin' in my OSU hoodie, hanging with my friend and two-stepping away.

You know what, I think I got hit on more that night, then  if I had dressed up and was trying to look good, you know what I mean. I think when you are just being yourself, guys notice that above all else, plus I am a dang good two-stepper.

My little bro showed up and we were dancing fools...Julianne Hough and her brother got nothing on us. Well, a couple of Dancing with the Stars trophies, but who's counting really.

Saturday, I got up early to make some Oreo Truffles for my friends baby shower, which turned out so perfect. She had a great day and the decorations were amazing. Pinterest played a big help in the decoration department, wish I had pictures...but alas my camera is dead.

So, Saturday night I was set on watching my Cowboys play against TU at 9:00...a super late game to begin with, but it was a stormy night here in the 918 and the game was delayed until 12:15. This Cowboy fan is old and passed out, so needless to say I did not get to watch my Cowboy's victory over TU but I am sure glad we won!! Go Pokes!!

So, now that I have bored you with my weekend, I am off to work.  I hope you all have a great day!

P.S. Who else is excited for Season Premier week of all the shows. This girl! My DVR is already set!

Where your story began

"You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You’ll never remember class time, but you’ll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don’t have. Drink ‘til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does…" Tom Petty

I always start to feel very reminiscent about college this time of year. I think it has something to do with going back to college to watch football games and all the upcoming things that happen in the fall, like OSU homecoming(which is the greatest homecoming on earth btw)

I will get back to that in a minute.

I was on good ol facebook the other day, just wasting time when I saw a status from a girl I know who is a freshman at OSU. She did a countdown on how many days she has left for college and she mentioned how she is tired of it already.

I, of course, immediately commented and told her not to waste that time away and how as an old lady I am constantly wishing to go back to the days of college. That she needs to take it all in and enjoy every single second of it, because believe me time goes by so fast.

Right after that comment I got an email from my Alma mater about our upcoming homecoming celebration. See if you are familiar at all with Oklahoma State University, then you know that we, hands down have the BEST homecoming celebration there is. Where else does the entire town shut down and close off streets for thousands upon thousand of students, alumni, parents, children, people from all over just to walk the streets, look at house decks and just to have the overall experience in the sea of orange that is Stillwater.

As homecoming approaches I will go into more detail of what a house deck is. For now, I will just tell you that as a former sorority girl, house decks are not possible without us. We "pomp" tissue paper into chicken wire and make basically a gigantic float that doesn't float but is displayed in front of the partnering fraternity. It's madness and it's all you do the entire fall semester.

Every year homecoming has a theme and this year's theme is "Where your story began." I couldn't think of a more fitting theme this year. I truly believe that college is where most stories began, whether it's where you met your now husband(that wasn't the case for me), your bestest friends(that was the case for me), you found yourself, who you wanted to be...the beginning of your story.

As I watched this video clip, I am not gonna lie...I got a little teary eyed just thinking of all the memories I made there. It really was the best place. In this video you will notice girls "pomping" and you will see house decks.

Where did you story began?

I know where mine began, the greatest place on earth. I am sure I will tell you more about my story as homecoming gets closer.

Jiminy freakin Cricket

Oh Em Gee....I think I may go insane.

There is a cricket in my office and it WON'T. STOP. CHIRPING.

Do crickets chirp?

I have no idea what you call their noise they make all I know is that this may be the day I actually go insane.  For reals. If not for the damn cricket noise, but because I seriously hate crickets. Like have a total freak out, melt down if a cricket was to jump on me or be around me or whatever.

Just ask my bestie how I am with crickets.

When we were living in the sorority house, I was sharing a three girl room with DonEtta and Bestie. I remember the day like it was yesterday, I was putting away my clothes just minding my own business when all of a sudden this gigantic, big black cricket jumped on me.

In a matter of two seconds I was jumping up and down, crying hysterically, having a complete and total freak out. I mean tears were literally rolling down my face...and tears were rolling down their faces as well...not because they equally felt my pain from being attacked by this monstrosity of a cricket.

Their tears...were tears from laughter. Rude, I tell you.

They weren't even trying to help get this cricket away from me. What good friends they are, right?

Good grief, just thinking about that gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I had no intentions of making this post about a cricket, but turns out I did. I actually had other important okay, maybe not important topics to discuss. Like Real housewives of Beverly Hills, the return of 90210 last night and that new show The Ringer...which I love and am already loving the suspense of it. Oh and the big brother finale tonight....see, real important topics.

But this constant cricket noise is DRIVING ME NUTS. I have even searched for this cricket, I mean, the thing freaks me out but I have to get rid of the noise. It's like that bad song that gets stuck in your head and won't ever leave....that is what this noise is doing to me.

Ok, I have to go now because I either have to go to the store and by ear plugs or something or just go home for the day. I can't take it anymore.

Tomorrow I may be writing this blog from a padded room, this cricket my very well drive me to there.

Oh and on a side note, why Disney ever made a cricket famous and pinned him off as being cute and nice and helped Pinocchio...they clearly were wrong.

Baby got back

I like big butts and I can not lie, you other brother's can't deny,  that when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face, you get sprung.

Ok, I'll stop singing the Sir Mix-A-Lot Baby got back.

I am sure it's not what you wanted to hear first thing this morning, me singing Baby got back...good thing you can't hear me sing it then, huh?

Any who, this weekend I watched the episode on Friends, the one where Ross and Rachel sing the infamous booty song to their baby girl and then I was driving to work and heard baby got back on the radio.

I took this as a sign to post about butts today.

Yep, you heard me. Butts.

I mean, seriously how cute is this picture?

I seriously want a baby elephant. I think she would be the perfect play mate with Bella and Bentley. She shall live in my backyard, along with the miniature pony, kola, zebra, fainting goat, and baby hippo.

Clearly, If I had all those animals I would need to be put on that animal hoarders show.

Enough about cute elephant booties, check out this little cowboy

Y'all know I love my cowboys.

Who doesn't like their Tuesday's started off with a cute bootie picture.

Your welcome.

Peace out!

Oh Monday, why do you come so soon.

Hey girls! Hope the weekend was great for all of you. Mine was very productive, well that is after a Friday night spent in bed medicated on wine and ibuprofen .

I think the wine made everything better.

I have started running again getting ready for an upcoming 5k and also gearing up to start training for my first half-marathon.

Well, I have no idea what I did...maybe I am just so out of shape, but I have seriously hurt my back. I think a combination of running and my bad posture I now have from having a desk job are all factors in my back being jacked up.

Therefore I spent Friday night drinking some wine and laying on a heating pad(that didn't work but maybe I didn't realize that because of the wine) and watching bridezillas.

Exciting, right?

All you runners out there, any and all advice is welcome in getting over my back injury and just any running advice is welcome all together.

Saturday I actually did something useful with my time.

Shopping

It's what I do best, well what my mom and I do best.

Afterwards,I decided to actually put my countless hours spent on Pinterest to use and with the help of my mom, we made one of my "pins".

This OSU wreath, well it wasn't titled an OSU wreath, but that's what I decided it should be

I think it turned out pretty dang good, if you ask me.

See, my time spent not working or cleaning or sleeping or running is actually productive.

Yay, for Pinterest.

Oh, one more thing. I was asked to bring an appetizer to a baby shower on Saturday, I said I would help with a few things. I have no clue what to bring. Any of you ladies have some great appetizer recipes or could be a dessert or just whatever you think is good for a baby shower...any and all ideas are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks loves!

Yo...I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want

It's a beautiful day here in the good ol' state of Oklahoma...so beautiful in fact that at lunch I was just cruising along with the windows down, sunroof open, music blaring, singing at the top of my lungs...then it happened.

I was caught dancing in my car.

Mind you, I dance and sing in my car like all the time. I guess I just think that no one can see me at all. I must think my windows are this super dark like president in the car dark tint...when in reality I don't have tinted windows at all.

So, people probably see me dance all the time.

This time though someone actually said something to me.

I was at a stoplight not paying any attention to the cars next to me just car dancing away and I turn my head and this old man is over in his car mocking me...maybe not mocking me, but he was doing a little bee bop of his own.

So, I just smiled and waved and he smiled and waved and we went on our merry little ways.

Even old people got the moves

It's the weather, I tell you...brings out the dance queens in us all.

This is my jam, how could you not car dance to this??

I am pretty sure me dancing to the Spice Girls made his day sooo much better.

Hope y'all are having a fab day!

Randoms from the weekend

Hey girls! Hope all y'all had a great labor day weekend, I did. I didn't do much but it was wonderful.

I feel like I need to give a shout out to the AMAZING Oklahoma weather right now. Seriously, it's perfect. I forgot what it's like to walk outside and actually not sweat your make-up off and have your hair go crazy.

It's wonderful.

Speaking of sweating my make-up off, OSU's first game of the season was insanely hot. It was ridiculous.

Ridic I tell you

I have no idea why I even bothered taking the time to get ready, I looked like one big ol' hot mess by the time the game even started. Which is why there are no pictures of the first game. Sorry, but I didn't want you to suffer through the hot messiness that it was. It was still a great day and I love my cowboys!

In other news..just a few randoms from the weekend.

Since the weather was sooo nice this weekend, I worked in my flower beds...making them all nice and pretty and planting some new fall flowers. This picture is why I don't do hard labor.

It hurts just as bad as the picture looks....which is why I went and bought myself some new nail polish...a mani makes hard labor worth it, right?

Fall colors from Essie, Lady like and Mink Muffs...I went with Mink Muffs...

Lovely huh?

I also made some yummy dreamy creamy tomato soup this weekend, I will post the recipe later. It is to die for. Seriously.

Oh and just in case you were wondering, if you accidentally call 911 and hang up, not knowing that you called 911...a police officer shows up.

Just an FYI.
