Blogging and a few things about me

Hi dolls.

Let's talk about blogging shall we?

Let's talk about how I have been blogging for over a year now and just now learned what Google reader is. I had no idea I could read your blogs through this...I have just been going blog by blog and reading them.

This Google reader thing is the shiznit.

How I did not know this existed all this time baffles me...actually no it doesn't, because A. I also for the longest time didn't realize I could just email you right back after you commented on my post(if you have your have email set up...if you don't, then I am so sorry I can't comment you back) and B. What the hell is HTML? Seriously, I have no clue what that is...I see you guys talk about it and stuff...and maybe I'm supposed to be using it or maybe I am using it, but honestly I have no clue.
(If someone would care to explain it to me that would be awesome...but good luck, because I googled it and I still didn't get it)

blogging

Of course, this is coming from the girl though who blew up spaghetti squash in her microwave.

To say I'm clueless about computers and or blogging is an understatement.

I LOVE blogging...and I think after a year or so of blogging, I'm finally getting the hang of it.

Better late than never,no?

I would like to give a shout out to my new peeps...Hola!! Thanks for stopping by!! It's so crazy how you can develop relationships with people you've never met....it's pretty dang awesome!!

Here are just a few things y'all should know if you are new to this here blog...and if your not, well maybe I never told you these things before...

Sometimes I don't think before I speak...ok, all the time. It's not that I say something inappropriate it's just that I say things that might be kinda random...ok, a lot random...but mostly funny, so that's good right?

I say the word shit a lot. Like all the time. It's a bad habit, I'm sure it's not lady like...but sometimes saying "Crap" or "Shoot" just doesn't cut it...a good, "aww shit" just seems to get the point across...know what I mean?

Tequila is my shot of choice.

It does not make my clothes come off, Joe Nichols, it does however make me loose a contact.
Never fails.

Speaking of Joe Nichols, I met him once. In a bar. After my 21st birthday. At the tumbleweed(in Stillwater)...we took shots together...tequila of course. I have the picture to prove it...well, I did until my computer decided to blow up. Now the world will never see it.

I would like to be a country music singer...but since I can't really belt out the tunes, I mean I can but only for Karaoke...if you know what I mean. By being a country singer, I really just want the tour bus.
I wouldn't mind marrying a country music singer...so you know of one, let a girl know.

While we are talking about country singers...here is just a little pic of Luke Bryan and I just hanging out...totally normal.

He called me 'baby'...I'm sure I'm the only one he calls baby.

My favorite colors are pink and turquoise.

Pink

I have to eat my M&M's by color...first I organize them in their respected color and then I only eat that color before moving on to the next.
It's weird...I'm fully aware of this.

I also like even numbers...no odd ones.

I can touch my tongue to my nose. It's real talent people.

I would like to have a tea cup pig...like for real. I want a tea cup pig over having a mini horse...and I go LOOOVE mini horses.

Well...I think that about covers it, have to save some things for next time.

xoxo

Getting out there

Hey y'all...welcome to my blog.

Neely is doing this awesome link up for everyone to find new blogs, and to get your own blog out there. I have been blogging for just over a year now and I absolutely love it. I never imagined that through blogging, that A. people actually want to know what is going on in my life and comment about it and B. That I would meet some amazingly wonderful friends, that I may never have met otherwise....and I am very glad I did

.

So, I am linking up in hopes to meet even more amazing people. I love reading about every ones life stories...and sharing my own....because it seems that no matter what I am going through or what I have experienced...there seems to be someone out there who is going through or experienced the same thing.

It's nice to know your not alone.
A little more about me....

I am a late 20 something single girl trying to find her prince, but in the mean time...I have no problem living it up, doing what single gals do. Spending time with some of my favorite people, my bff's...going on trips, wine nights, going back to our Alma Mater(Oklahoma State University) for football games and nights where we try to be college kids again, I enjoy decorating, shopping, I am little bit Real Housewives obsessed, a make-up junkie, a recently discovered Pinterest addict, Pioneer Woman wannabe(complete with my own Marlboro man, please), lover of all things girly, I love to fish(with my pink fishing pole, of course) and a future half-marathon runner(fingers crossed).

Ever hear of the Miranda Lambert song, "Airstream Trailer"? Well this is where the title of my blog comes from. Sometimes, I think we all have a little gypsy soul in us, and sometimes I think I would be perfectly content with being on a mountain, drinking from a stream instead of a fountain...but then I remember that through and through I was born a red dirt girl.

And in case you are wondering...Oklahoma, well..we have red dirt.

Birthday week

Today marks the start of what I like to call the best holiday ever....my birthday week!

That's right ladies, this blonde okie is turning the big 2-7 on Friday and I like to drag it out as long as possible.

So with that being said...Happy Birthday week to moi

Yesterday, and in honor of my birthday week, I went out and bought myself a present, plus I was having a very bad day and nothing makes me happier than buying make-up. In fact, if any of y'all would like to send me a gift card to Sephora...I wouldn't complain.

Just sayin'

I bought this amazing beauty product that every gal loves and uses all the time

I swear, it's the best eyeshadow palette ever.

I'm gonna try and dig up some childhood pictures of me from birthdays past...I bet y'all are excited about that one.

In honor of day one of my birthday week...I want all of y'all to go have a margarita or two : )

Happy girls are the prettiest girls

Morning pretty girls...hope you all are having the best day so far.

A couple of weekends ago when I was at the lake I had an epiphany. Well, maybe not then I had it, but I have thought long and hard and taken it in and now I have had an epiphany.

What is this epiphany I speak of you are wondering, well it's not anything that will cure cancer or world hunger or world peace.

Actually, I guess it could.

My epiphany is that I am judgemental. Some of you who know me are thinking to yourselves, "How is this your epiphany? We have known this for quite sometime."

Yes, I will admit I am quite judgemental, but aren't we all? If anything, I am more harsh and judgemental on myself. What girl isn't hard on themselves, right? At least one time or another.
While I was at the lake, I was completely myself. I wasn't trying to impress anyone, or get all dolled up, who was I going to impress with my expensive make-up and volumized hair. The fishies? The hott guys? Certainly not them, they were no where in sight. The hott guy's anyway...the fishies were too much in the open...eek.

I don't think I washed my hair in days. Gross, yes...but I was at the lake...what was the point? I hadn't put make-up on since Friday morning when I went to work.

In fact I don't know how many times I was reminded at how much my freckles on my face were showing. Thanks a lot sun.

Even with my hair a hot mess, my freckles making their grand appearance, a little girl told me I was pretty.

She saw my natural beauty and thought I was pretty. The same beauty I see when I take a shower or remove my make-up, the same beauty that I try to cover up because  I sometimes think it's not beautiful.

Who was she to say this anyway? She wasn't trying to impress me or say something nice to me so I would like her, she was honest and true.

Why don't we see things the way a child view's things. So innocent and pure? We only see the flaws, we only see what we want to improve.

As women we are incredibly hard on ourselves. Always trying to out do or out pretty someone else. We see someone with big boobs and we want them, someone with a small ass and we want that. Straight hair girls want curly hair and visa versa.

So we wake up one morning with a pimple the size of Texas after a slight panic attack we go on about our day. Usually if you don't acknowledge that it is there, no one will see it. No one notice's the tiny little flaws we see.

I don't think that little girl knew that by her saying I was pretty that day would have such an impact on me, whatever her reasons for saying it...I am glad she did.

Sometimes you just need to hear it, what better way to hear it than when you are least expecting it.

All I want to do is Register.

Think about it. If you are single, after graduation there isn't one occasion where people celebrate you ... Hallmark doesn't make a "congratulations, you didn't marry the wrong guy" card. And where's the flatware for going on vacation alone? Carrie-Sex and the City

Apparently, Sex and the City quotes are the only quotes that work for me lately. Back in the days where I didn't have a blog, very sad days because I LOVE blogging, I wrote a guest post for BFF Miss football. about said topic I am going to write about now. I figure that it's a good time do write one and since I haven't written one on le blog before...why not now?? Especially since I am in the middle of baby mania.

I am extremely ecstatic, over joyed, delighted, thrilled and whatever other word you want to add in there for all my friends who are engaged, getting married, having a baby, having a second, third, fourth baby, adopting a new dog, buying a new house, getting a new job, sitting on their ass, I don't know...whatever is...I am happy for you.

I just don't want to have to buy you any more gifts.

I can't.

In case you haven't noticed that you haven't bought me any gifts lately, it's because I am SINGLE. I have one bank account and it's very empty because of the five hundred gifts I am having to buy.

Geesh...you have to be an heiress to afford everything.

Do not get me wrong, I wouldn't buy anyone anything if I didn't want to, I love to buy these new babies that are coming into the world a gift. But, why do they all have to be coming at the same time?? One at a time people, I can't handle it.

I have five new babies I have to buy for, that's five baby showers in a matter of two months..my account is yelling at me right now.

I just hope that when I get married and I get to finally take that magical little gun that just scans whatever item it is that I wish for, they remember the gift(s) that I got them.

Am I sounding selfish? spoiled?

I hope not, I am just a lonely little single gal who only wishes to be able to scan items for other people to buy.

I have issues with this, why do we only celebrate these occasions? What about when people graduate from college, that should at least call for a register at pottery barn...you have to outfit your newly post-graduate house you know.

What about when you turn a milestone age? Like 25? I told everyone I was going to register for my 25th birthday, because it's a big day...I didn't though. Then I said I would for my 26th birthday last year, because it was my "Golden" birthday....still didn't register. Maybe for my 27th?

Btw, my birthday is August 26.

Just so you know : )

What I've learned

Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous. Carrie-Sex and the City

I am not claiming to be an expert on relationships by any means, after all I am still single. I think by choice, and you will see why in a few minutes. I do think though, I have a pretty good perspective on what it is I am looking for and what things I do want and know for sure that I don't want in a future husband. Some say I am picky, I digress.

I have dated or gone on some dates with  very interesting characters. Which proves that I do go outside the box, and not just stick to my picky ways. See this mom, I DO give people chances...it's not my fault they have issues.

Moving on to the reason of this post, I thought I would give y'all a few examples from my dating life. Kinda of like my own version of "What not to wear" except we will call it, "Who not to date."

Ok, here we go...just a few.

1. Don't mix religions. This should be an obvious thing. I am a christian so it is highly un-likely that I will date a non-christian. Even when dating a christian make sure you believe in the same things, like I don't know, electricity for one and cars. Last summer I dated a used to be fellow of the Amish kind, who was super nice and cute. He did have electricity and a truck, but still the idea that one day if I was to marry him (big if) and he decided to revert back to his old ways and take my electricity from me...we would have issues. Call me spoiled, but I like lights, ac/heat oh and my chi.

2. Don't date a serial killer. Ok, so he wasn't a serial killer, but apparently he was arrested in another state for nearly killing someone. How I did not know this prior to said date, beats me. Ladies, extensive back ground checks are a must.

3. Don't meet guys at biker rallies. See previous statement above.

4. Don't date a pretty boy. First things first, usually a pretty boy is well, pretty. Nice body, nice abs, nice arms...you get me? I am a girl, obvs. I like to take my time to get ready, which I can, because I am a girl. If a guy takes longer to get ready to go out than I do. We have issues. Also, if they change their fb profile picture 20 times a day, I think they have issues.

5.  Don't date a guy you meet while on vacation. Let's just say what happens in Vegas, should stay in Vegas and not follow you back to Oklahoma. No matter how many times they call you, "Darling" and "Sweet heart"...my bff honey knows exactly what I am talking about.

6. Don't date a guy who lives in a fifth wheel. Let me start by saying there is nothing wrong with a person living in a fifth wheel, I just didn't know how to title this. Basically, he worked on the road and that was his home, which is cool. But, when you only go on like two dates and you want me to talk to your mother on the phone and she is excited to meet me when I come to Louisana in a few weeks for her birthday. Umm...I never agreed to that, and you are crazy. Thank you.

7. Don't even start to date a guy who only talks about how cool your dad is. I have nothing to say to this, because I lost interest in him when he was only interested in talking about my dad. Go figure.

8. Don't date someone that resembles a really hot actor. Remember that they are not said famous person and they still live at home.

9. Don't date someone who loves their tractor more than you. I believe this situation only happens in Oklahoma.

and last but not least...

10. Don't date someone just to date someone...stick to your guns single ladies and don't settle for anything less than you deserve.

**Disclaimer** If you are currently dating/married to a guy with a different religion than you, and he is a hot, pretty boy that drives a tractor and y'all met at a biker rally and you are completely ok that he is totally enamored with your dad...then more power to you. I wish you nothing but happiness. These are just cases were it didn't work for me : )

Peace and love peeps!

Meet this Red Dirt Girl

Happy Sunday y'all...hope everyone is having a great weekend thus far and a Happy Father's Day. I am over at the parentals for a cook out, I should be helping but instead I am blogging : )

I'd say that's being productive, right?

Anyway, I am linking up today with A little bit of this and that to participate in the Blogger Meet and Greet.

I started le blog in January, one of my best friends known on this blog as Miss Football had started a blog about a year or so ago and had been begging hounding me to start a blog. So I did. Actually, she did. I didn't know the first thing about starting a blog, I still don't really know what I am doing. I told her a link name and she created it and here we are six months later.

I never ever would have imagined how much I would love blogging. I will admit I haven't really put my whole self out there yet, I think I am starting to in baby steps. It's still a little over whelming knowing that what I write goes out here into the world, but I am getting used to it. I love "meeting" fellow bloggers and getting to know them, I still think it's funny when I say meeting and knowing bloggers. That is just what happens when you blog and follow others. You learn about their life and their struggles and their happiness and you feel as though you are going through whatever it is they are going through. I never imagined a support system and a friendship from people all over whom I have never met before. It's awesome.
I came up with the title of the blog from a line in Miranda Lambert's song, "Airstream Trailer." This verse fits me to a tee.

Sometimes I wish I lived on a mountain
drank from a stream instead of a fountain
I'd stay there, top of the world
but I was born a red dirt girl

I am all the time wishing and wondering what it would be like to live in a NYC or San Francisco or another country or somewhere else...but I was born a red dirt girl and Oklahoma, well has red dirt.

I am just a single 20 something gal living my life...I write mainly about my family, friends, fur babies and just whatever is on my mind. Which can be pretty random most of the time.

I couldn't really pick favorite posts, but these generally describe who I am and what I blog about.

These are just a few, but I think you get the idea of who I am and what I am about.

Hope you enjoy visiting this blonde okie!

Have a great Sunday loves : )

I want to talk about me

Kinda funny title for a blog, right? Because aren't blogs about you? All about you? Yes...they are, but I feel the need to share just some random little tidbits about moi. Information you probably don't care to know, or if your my mom...you already know and probably don't want to hear it,ha! I will feel better knowing that you--lovely people out in blog land-know just a few minor things about this blonde okie.

Lets get started shall we...

**I am 26 years old and my bday is August 26. I celebrate my birthday for a whole week...not just a day. Any and all presents will be accepted : )

**I have an 18 yr. old baby brother--almost 18- whom I whole heartily adore, probably a little too much. I get quite emotional just at the mentioned of him graduating. Not quite, actually, more like Niagara falls crying. Its bad. At his graduation someone should sedate me. Seriously.

**I love my momma. She is my bestest friend. That is all.

**I can touch my tongue to my nose...how's that for talent?

**I can not whistle. Like at all. This really, really bugs me.

**I could eat fried okra for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

**Matthew McConaughey is a gorgeous gorgeous man...I realize this has nothing to do with me, but I was just thinking of how incredibly pretty he is...sigh

**For my 21st birthday my momma and I got tattoos. In the same spot, but not the same tattoo.

**I am addicted to all types of Reality TV, Real Housewives of OC, NY, Jersey, Beverly Hills, Jersey Shore, Bachelor. I really should get a life.

**I have a dream of one day having my own miniature animal farm, i.e. mini horses, mini cows, mini donkeys, mini pigs, mini everything.

**I want to go skydiving...but I am so incredibly scared to.

**I love skiing/tubing at the lake, but I freak out if I am left in the water for too long. I don't want the fish or whatever is under the water to get me.

**There is such a thing as attacking fish. It happened to me this summer. I swear. I was attacked by like a hundred flying fish. I think I may have walked on water that day.

**For my birthday one year, my papa gave me two ponies...one was completely blind and the other one was seriously mean. I am thinking he must have gotten a buy one get one free kinda deal.

**I cut my own hair when I was a child. I gave myself a mullet. I am pretty sure, those are the ONLY pictures my mom took of me when I was little. Just of me and my mullet. Good Grief.

Me and my mullet

I think that is all for you need to know about me for now....more on me later : )

Have a great day loves!
