Here she is Miss America...

For as long as I can remember, I have always watched Miss America. I love beauty pageants. Its probably why I love big hair so much, and the fact that deep down I have always wanted to be a princess...I mean, who hasn't wanted to be one. I think its just a tiara thing, I have always wanted my own tiara.

Saturday night, Miss America was on, of course I watched it...like I always do. Miss Oklahoma made it to the top five and went away with fourth runner up. Oklahoma has produced quite a few Miss America's...I think that says something about us Oklahoma girls. Just saying. We have big hair.

I was talking to one of the bff's, Miss Football, and giving her the play by play of who's who, who is in the top five, and who I think the winner is going to be. Of course, I picked the winner...17 year old, Miss Nebraska. I asked Miss Football if she had ever wanted to be Miss America, she was like, "I have literally never wanted to be Miss America, like ever." Then we both laughed because, I said something along the lines of I would have totally been in pageants if I had a talent...we were laughing at the fact that her and I are complete opposites when it comes to things, yet so alike at the same time and are the best of friends. If the two of us could be anything, she would be a football player for OSU or Notre Dame and I would be Miss America. I have the hair for it.

See, we work because, I give her fashion advice, and do her eye make-up and she explains to me all the positions of the offensive line and defensive line, and the point system of the Big 12. We balance each other out. It's what good friends do.

Me, Miss Football, Besite

Phone conversation Saturday Night during Miss America:

Me: Nebraska won again, just like how they beat us this year and were big 12 champs.
Me: Don't you like how I referenced football in the Miss America pageant.
Miss Football: I have never been more proud

And this is why we are best friends!

XOXO,
Lyndse

Ahhh, this is cute! You two are complete opposites in many ways, but very similar in others: morals, values, core beliefs, etc. And you're both very good friends to other people!

I LOVE this post Lyndse!! You totally deserve a tiara to wear - think you should splurge and wear during an evening out with the divas. Maybe even Calf Fry or something. It will be a fantastic conversation piece ;)
