The Voice

Hello lovely ladies...guess what? It's Thursday which means one more day until Friday which means one more day until the weekend...who's excited??

This girl is!

Anyone watch NBC's "The Voice"? I did all season and I absolutely loved it.

L.O.V.E.D IT!

How in the world am I just now realizing how incredibly hot Adam Levine is?? I mean I love Maroon 5 and all but seriously Adam Levine is crazy hott and I don't think I have ever payed attention.

Big mistake on my part, Huge!

Anyway, how bout our very own Mr. Blake Shelton...I swear I just love that guy more and more every time I see him, not only is he very good looking, tall, good ol' country boy, great singer, married to Miranda Lambert but he has a heart of gold and I love how he just adores Dia Frampton. Makes me cry sometimes listening to him talk about her.

I wish she would have won, but Javier Colon is amazing and he too deserved to win. They are both equally talented. If you haven't been watching it and don't know who I am talking about or what they sound like...here are a few clips.

Dia Frampton signing her version of "Heartless" = awesomeness

Her and Mr. Shelton singing Tom Petty's  I won't back down...LOVE IT!

Javier with the one and only Stevie Nicks singing "Landslide" =pure genius

and the hott factor increases with Adam Levine and Javier singing Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror"

the other two ladies Beverly and Vicci were amazing too!!

I am pretty sure we will be hearing a lot more from all four finalists.

What I love...

It's Wednesday and that means Jamie's What I am Loving...it also means that it's the middle of the week and getting closer to the holiday weekend....which leads me to all things I am loving...

I am loving that us working gals get a three day weekend (some get more) but I will be ok with the three days.

I am loving that it is my momma's birthday on July 2...love you MOM!

I am loving that I get to camp out at the lake this weekend for a girls weekend camping trip...my mom, bestie, and bestie's mom. I for see lots of margaritas being consumed, lots of laying out, lots of riding the seado's, lots and lots of fun. Can not wait!! I will try my best to take plenty of pictures...however I will not be sporting make-up and I am sure my hair will be something fierce so I might re-think this picture thing.

Bestie's mom, Bestie, me and my mom before the George Strait concert last year...oh and bella : )

I am loving that I get to camp in an RV and not a tent. Can we say AC!!

I am loving that I get to watch the fireworks over the water, which in my opinion is the best possible way to watch fireworks.

What are y'all loving today??

Insert clever title here

Morning lovelies.

I would have blogged yesterday, but I was too tired, too sore and I just didn't feel as though anything I had to say was blog worthy.

I still don't have anything blog worthy to say, but I am going to just type and talk and it all probably won't make any sense at all.

I apologize.

I got in a fight this last weekend. Well, not really...I am no Rocky Balboa that is fo sho. You would think I got into a fight with all these bruises and scrapes on my body. This is what happens when you slip and fall on the trailer when you are unloading the seado's into the lake. My knee is busted and bruised, I have a random bruise on the left side of my leg. Bruises all over the place.

If you think this is bad, you should see the trailer!

Funny, no?!?

I also may or may not have accidentally pulled an iron ( yes a clothes iron) off a shelf and it fell on my nose.

I screamed bloody murder, thought for sure my nose was broken. Thank goodness it's not.

You think I might be accident prone?

In other news, one month from today I will be getting on a plane to head to SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA for GIRLS WEEKEND 2011.

Can you tell I am excited??

I can't wait to spend the weekend with these girls

This was from SF 2008...this picture makes me laugh!

where we will be doing a little of this

here

having a picnic here

oh and the main reason we are going is to run in this...

I can not wait!!!!

Have a great day girls!

I have the best family and friends ever.period.end.of.sentence.

There was this one time that Kelly over at Kelly's Korner posted a "Show us your singles link-up"...well, Miss football and I are the lone single ones of our group. So, what does Miss Football do...she links both of us to this blog.

In hopes that we will find our soul mates : )

I hope this happens

Even if it doesn't happen this way (meeting through a blog) I know that I am truly loved. Why? You ask.

Let me tell you, my best friends, mom and baby brother all wrote some incredibly, sweet, wonderful amazing comments about me...enough to make this girl cry. We all know I am a crier anyway.

You know you are truly loved when the people you cherish most in life say some pretty amazing things about you...when they didn't have to, mind you.

I did tell my mom and brother to say nice things about me, you know if they want me to get married and all.

I won't type what everyone said, if you would like to, you can find that here http://cousinswissmister.blogspot.com/2011/06/lyndse-our-blonde-oklahoma-girl.html

but I will write what my baby brother said...everything that everyone said means the world to me, but I'd be lying if I said that his didn't mean the most. Those teenage boys aren't the greatest at showing their love, so it's nice to know he loves me : )

My "Lil" sister Lyndse is an amazing person. You will never meet a funnier girl in your life. I couldn't ask for a better sister to help guide me through life. She has always been there for me when i needed her and will always be. She is truly a beautiful person inside and out.

I must say I love him to pieces!

P.S. Feel free to send any tall, dark and handsome men my way.

Simple things

Hello lovely ladies! Today I am linking up to a wonderful blog I stumbled across, Miss Jesslyn Amber

The Simple Things
I know I most definitely take the simple things in life for granted, I love the idea of a link up where you can honor those simple things that get over looked : )

These are my simple things for the week...

*The smell of fresh cut grass*

*I went to the lake last weekend with my mom and besties mom, and we docked and had a picnic just sitting by the water, the sound of the waves crashing is so relaxing*

*my doggies greeting me when I come home*

*my bed*

*summer evenings spent on my front porch*

*phone chats with my best friends*

*getting my hair done and eyebrows waxed*

*spending time with my family*

*a nice glass of wine at the end of a long day/week*

Hope you ladies have a great day today...one more day and it's the weekend!!

All I want to do is Register.

Think about it. If you are single, after graduation there isn't one occasion where people celebrate you ... Hallmark doesn't make a "congratulations, you didn't marry the wrong guy" card. And where's the flatware for going on vacation alone? Carrie-Sex and the City

Apparently, Sex and the City quotes are the only quotes that work for me lately. Back in the days where I didn't have a blog, very sad days because I LOVE blogging, I wrote a guest post for BFF Miss football. about said topic I am going to write about now. I figure that it's a good time do write one and since I haven't written one on le blog before...why not now?? Especially since I am in the middle of baby mania.

I am extremely ecstatic, over joyed, delighted, thrilled and whatever other word you want to add in there for all my friends who are engaged, getting married, having a baby, having a second, third, fourth baby, adopting a new dog, buying a new house, getting a new job, sitting on their ass, I don't know...whatever is...I am happy for you.

I just don't want to have to buy you any more gifts.

I can't.

In case you haven't noticed that you haven't bought me any gifts lately, it's because I am SINGLE. I have one bank account and it's very empty because of the five hundred gifts I am having to buy.

Geesh...you have to be an heiress to afford everything.

Do not get me wrong, I wouldn't buy anyone anything if I didn't want to, I love to buy these new babies that are coming into the world a gift. But, why do they all have to be coming at the same time?? One at a time people, I can't handle it.

I have five new babies I have to buy for, that's five baby showers in a matter of two months..my account is yelling at me right now.

I just hope that when I get married and I get to finally take that magical little gun that just scans whatever item it is that I wish for, they remember the gift(s) that I got them.

Am I sounding selfish? spoiled?

I hope not, I am just a lonely little single gal who only wishes to be able to scan items for other people to buy.

I have issues with this, why do we only celebrate these occasions? What about when people graduate from college, that should at least call for a register at pottery barn...you have to outfit your newly post-graduate house you know.

What about when you turn a milestone age? Like 25? I told everyone I was going to register for my 25th birthday, because it's a big day...I didn't though. Then I said I would for my 26th birthday last year, because it was my "Golden" birthday....still didn't register. Maybe for my 27th?

Btw, my birthday is August 26.

Just so you know : )

What I've learned

Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous. Carrie-Sex and the City

I am not claiming to be an expert on relationships by any means, after all I am still single. I think by choice, and you will see why in a few minutes. I do think though, I have a pretty good perspective on what it is I am looking for and what things I do want and know for sure that I don't want in a future husband. Some say I am picky, I digress.

I have dated or gone on some dates with  very interesting characters. Which proves that I do go outside the box, and not just stick to my picky ways. See this mom, I DO give people chances...it's not my fault they have issues.

Moving on to the reason of this post, I thought I would give y'all a few examples from my dating life. Kinda of like my own version of "What not to wear" except we will call it, "Who not to date."

Ok, here we go...just a few.

1. Don't mix religions. This should be an obvious thing. I am a christian so it is highly un-likely that I will date a non-christian. Even when dating a christian make sure you believe in the same things, like I don't know, electricity for one and cars. Last summer I dated a used to be fellow of the Amish kind, who was super nice and cute. He did have electricity and a truck, but still the idea that one day if I was to marry him (big if) and he decided to revert back to his old ways and take my electricity from me...we would have issues. Call me spoiled, but I like lights, ac/heat oh and my chi.

2. Don't date a serial killer. Ok, so he wasn't a serial killer, but apparently he was arrested in another state for nearly killing someone. How I did not know this prior to said date, beats me. Ladies, extensive back ground checks are a must.

3. Don't meet guys at biker rallies. See previous statement above.

4. Don't date a pretty boy. First things first, usually a pretty boy is well, pretty. Nice body, nice abs, nice arms...you get me? I am a girl, obvs. I like to take my time to get ready, which I can, because I am a girl. If a guy takes longer to get ready to go out than I do. We have issues. Also, if they change their fb profile picture 20 times a day, I think they have issues.

5.  Don't date a guy you meet while on vacation. Let's just say what happens in Vegas, should stay in Vegas and not follow you back to Oklahoma. No matter how many times they call you, "Darling" and "Sweet heart"...my bff honey knows exactly what I am talking about.

6. Don't date a guy who lives in a fifth wheel. Let me start by saying there is nothing wrong with a person living in a fifth wheel, I just didn't know how to title this. Basically, he worked on the road and that was his home, which is cool. But, when you only go on like two dates and you want me to talk to your mother on the phone and she is excited to meet me when I come to Louisana in a few weeks for her birthday. Umm...I never agreed to that, and you are crazy. Thank you.

7. Don't even start to date a guy who only talks about how cool your dad is. I have nothing to say to this, because I lost interest in him when he was only interested in talking about my dad. Go figure.

8. Don't date someone that resembles a really hot actor. Remember that they are not said famous person and they still live at home.

9. Don't date someone who loves their tractor more than you. I believe this situation only happens in Oklahoma.

and last but not least...

10. Don't date someone just to date someone...stick to your guns single ladies and don't settle for anything less than you deserve.

**Disclaimer** If you are currently dating/married to a guy with a different religion than you, and he is a hot, pretty boy that drives a tractor and y'all met at a biker rally and you are completely ok that he is totally enamored with your dad...then more power to you. I wish you nothing but happiness. These are just cases were it didn't work for me : )

Peace and love peeps!

Meet this Red Dirt Girl

Happy Sunday y'all...hope everyone is having a great weekend thus far and a Happy Father's Day. I am over at the parentals for a cook out, I should be helping but instead I am blogging : )

I'd say that's being productive, right?

Anyway, I am linking up today with A little bit of this and that to participate in the Blogger Meet and Greet.

I started le blog in January, one of my best friends known on this blog as Miss Football had started a blog about a year or so ago and had been begging hounding me to start a blog. So I did. Actually, she did. I didn't know the first thing about starting a blog, I still don't really know what I am doing. I told her a link name and she created it and here we are six months later.

I never ever would have imagined how much I would love blogging. I will admit I haven't really put my whole self out there yet, I think I am starting to in baby steps. It's still a little over whelming knowing that what I write goes out here into the world, but I am getting used to it. I love "meeting" fellow bloggers and getting to know them, I still think it's funny when I say meeting and knowing bloggers. That is just what happens when you blog and follow others. You learn about their life and their struggles and their happiness and you feel as though you are going through whatever it is they are going through. I never imagined a support system and a friendship from people all over whom I have never met before. It's awesome.
I came up with the title of the blog from a line in Miranda Lambert's song, "Airstream Trailer." This verse fits me to a tee.

Sometimes I wish I lived on a mountain
drank from a stream instead of a fountain
I'd stay there, top of the world
but I was born a red dirt girl

I am all the time wishing and wondering what it would be like to live in a NYC or San Francisco or another country or somewhere else...but I was born a red dirt girl and Oklahoma, well has red dirt.

I am just a single 20 something gal living my life...I write mainly about my family, friends, fur babies and just whatever is on my mind. Which can be pretty random most of the time.

I couldn't really pick favorite posts, but these generally describe who I am and what I blog about.

These are just a few, but I think you get the idea of who I am and what I am about.

Hope you enjoy visiting this blonde okie!

Have a great Sunday loves : )

On rainy days...

I just want to stay home, in comfy sweats, cuddled up with my fur babies taking a nap or catching up on my DVR...but no, I must go to work. Someone has to pay the bills. If only I was a 22 year old heiress like this gal, who is buying the Spelling Manor for just a measly ol 85 million.

No big, right? I am sure most 22 year olds have that kinda cash just lying around...haha, I wish. At 22, I was eating Ramen Noodles, about to graduate college...with hardly any money at all. Heck, I at 26,  still sometimes eat Ramen Noodles.

Must be nice.

In other news, this furry child of mine is mad at me and having a very very bad hair day...

You see, what happened is she was supposed to have a beauty appointment at the beginning of June. However, I may or may not have written it down in my calender (if it doesn't get written down, it apparently doesn't take place) and she may or may not have missed her appointment and the next available appt. is AUGUST 4th.

I am a bad mother.

I am kinda scared to see what she will look like by then. I have decided since I do not trust anyone else to cut her hair, besides the place I take her too...so, I will give her a haircut.

She may hate me even more after that.

Wish me luck!

Have a great day loves!

Tomorrow is Friday, woo woo!

Just a few things I am loving...

I haven't done one of these in awhile, thought it was bout time I do one.

I am loving the fact that it is Wednesday! Hello middle of the week. Why are weekends only two days and work weeks are five days? I think this should be reversed in the summer time...who's with me?!

I am loving this song by Lady A...love love love love it. I feel as though it speaks to me,ha!

I am loving summer, even though it's scorching hot. I'd rather it be scorching hot than in a blizzard again. I do not like blizzards.

I am loving Pop-Ice...I used to get these all the time, when I was younger.  I bought some the other day and let me tell you it is the perfect end to a hot day especially after a run on a hot day.

I am loving the Real Housewives of OC Reunion part's I and II. OMG...can these girls argue. CRAZY. I must say, Tamara is a B*tch in my opinion. I think she is very hypocritical. She is always up and everyone else's business saying stuff about them in the press, yet when someone does it to her all hell breaks loose and she throws wine at people and everything. She just really needs to get over herself. I still think the bathtub scene was a bit ridiculous and if she thinks her children won't ever see that or hear about it, than she is sadly mistaken. You can't shelter them from other kids who have watched it or heard their parents talk about it.

Speaking of reality TV, I am so loving that Big Brother is starting back on July 7th!

I am loving the latest song I downloaded last night...Miranda Lambert's new all girl band, "Pistol Annies" finally released the song they performed at the CBS Girl's night out special. "Hell on Heels" Go to their website www.pistolannies.com and download it. You'll love it. Here is a clip from their performance.

And last but not least, I am loving that we got some much needed rain last night and with that I slept like a baby. Who else sleeps good when it rains?

What are y'all loving today, go link up with Miss Jamie.

Simple things...

Why as adults do we make life so complicated? At what age do you reach where you stop seeing things as they are and not try to make them something they aren't?

Life is meant to be simple.

Not complicated.

Just ask any child.

I over-analyze everything. EVERYTHING. Every little detail. It's very obsessive and annoying and it doesn't do me or the fifty people I am asking to hash it out with me any good. Do you think sometimes that we over-analyze issues because we are trying to get the answer we really want? Knowing that the answer we truly want isn't at all the answer that we will get.

You get me?

I wish I was a little kid again...for lots of reasons. One in particular is because as a child you view the world differently, you view the world as it is. Just that. You don't judge. You sure as hell don't care what you are wearing or how you will be received. If you want to wear a pink tutu with cowboy boots and a tiara. You do, because your six and you can get away with it. At 26, people may think you are crazy. Just a little.

The reason I say all this, is because I was recently playing with the most adorable three year old. I just love her to pieces. I was having a rough day to go with a very rough week. Needless to say, I just wasn't feeling it...I didn't feel pretty, I didn't feel like being there or anywhere, it was just one of those days.

The first thing she said to me was, "Hello Lyndse, you are so pretty today...you can have my doughnut hole's."

That statement coming from a three year old, seriously made everything better. For one, who doesn't like to be told they look pretty and who doesn't like doughnuts?

See, it's the simple things.

Weekend Wrap-up

I am sunburned...yet again.

You would think I learned my lesson the first time, but no. I did put sunscreen on, just apparently not enough?!

Oh well, at least I got to spend time laying out the pool and riding sea do's at the lake, a sunburn is worth that, right?

I hope so.

I took Miss Bella to the vet to get her yearly shots and get her tested for heart worm ( because apparently I am a bad mother and haven't gotten her tested for this...please don't turn me into dog welfare services) she doesn't have it...YAY! I was so worried and paranoid, I googled everything about it just in case, I was seriously freaking myself out.

Google isn't helpful for paranoid people like me.

I haven't ran in the last couple of days. I am not sure if you are aware of this, but Oklahoma is practically a sauna. Running + hot sauna air= lyndse staying inside watching DVR while eating ice cream.

That pretty much sums up my weekend.

I apologize for the most boring post ever.

Adventures in Running

"I go running when I have to, when the ice cream truck is going sixty." Wendy Liebman

As you know I am venturing off to San Francisco at the end of July to spend the weekend with my best friends, drink a little wine, gallivant around the city, shop...oh and run this little thing called the San Francisco Marathon. Only, I am not running the marathon nor the half marathon like Miss Football...no, I am just running the 5k.

Just 3 miles.

3 miles is a lot for a non-runner like myself. I really want to be able to call myself a runner, you know. Like bring it up in a conversation. "Ya, I just ran 10 miles this morning...I'm a runner."

Well, I have been doing pretty good as of late, running early in the morning on the weekends before it gets miserably hot and running late in the evenings as it cools down.

So far I haven't had any issue's on the running trail. Everyone is friendly, we wave to each other and smile, we step aside and let people pass...it's like one big happy running family.

That is until the other night...in one night I was nearly attacked by a fox( or a look-alike fox, possibly a dog), a heard a serial killer lingering in the woods ( ok it might not have been a serial killer, too many episodes of criminal minds maybe?) and the kicker of them all...I got tripped by a punk 4 year old on a freakin tricycle.

If these aren't reasons enough to carry a taser, I don't know what is.

I would like to thank the Academy...

well...not really the Academy...but I would like to thank Miss Jodie over at Ramblings of a Fabulous Brunette for giving me the Stylish Blogger Award. I am so excited to receive this. You must go over and check out my fellow Oklahoman. This girl is super stylish, she is always talking about fashion, she is beautiful inside and out and just the sweetest person. Y'all will love her!

With the award, you must list seven things about yourself...so here we go!

1. I am not a natural blonde...I mean I was when I was younger and my real hair color is a light brown ( I think, it has been foreva since I have seen it). I act blonde and believe me honey, I spend enough money on this hair that I wish it was natural.

2. When I find a something a like, like really really like, and it comes in multiple colors. I will buy it. In. every. color. True story. I just can't help it.

3. I can touch my tongue to my nose. It's not stylish nor classy. But it's pretty much my only talent, so I go with it.

4. I have this weird thing with numbers. Everything has to be an even number. Volume on the TV-even number, volume in the car-even number. The fact that I have to list only 7 things, seriously is bugging me.

5.  Recently I was being compared to another blonde girl, and this is how the comparison went, " She is just like you personality wise, but she is less hair than you do." (This is about a new girl starting work at our other location) He was referring to my hair. I like volume. I am good at getting volume in my hair. My motto, "The higher the hair the closer to Jesus!"

6. As much fun as it would be to win the lottery, I wouldn't mind just winning a shopping spree to Sephora and MAC make-up. It would be like I had died and gone to heaven. I can never, and I repeat never have too much make-up.

7. Clearly my stylish ways started at a young age...

haha

Now, I nominate a few stylish ladies myself...

Part II of the Oklahoma bucket list...

So, did y'all read the first installment of "Oklahoma bucket list: 77 things every Oklahoman should do." No, you haven't...well, then you must go read it.

So, what else have I done...well, take a looksie.

21. Survive the Visual Onslaught of the Rhema Christmas Lights. I will admit this last Christmas was the first time I have ever gone, and I went twice. Just trying to make up for lost times. It is seriously magical. I am a sucker for all things Christmas...especially lights. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. The people at Rhema know exactly what they are doing. I wish I had better pictures. Here is my mom and I about to ride in the Cinderella like carriage to look at the lights.

22. Watch the Buffalo. Buffalo seem to roam a lot in Oklahoma. Not sure why this is a bucket list item and not really sure why so many people own Buffalo here, but I have seen them roam so I think this counts as a crossed off item.

23. Wear your team colors, while downing Billy Sims' Bar-B-Que. I have done this. Billy Sim's is a former OU player, and of course I ate his food wearing my ORANGE OSU COLORS. Check!

24. Detox in the healing waters around Sulphur. Let me tell you, I may not have detoxed in these waters, but I have spent many summer's in this town. My Nana and Papa lived there. The smell alone in this town is worth a bucket list check. I did frolic in the springs once or twice though. They say it has healing powers and I believe the fountain of youth is there...maybe I should re-visit it?

25. Float the Illinois River. I am pretty sure everyone and their dog has floated this river. I have received sunburns from this river, a bacterial infection on my leg(anyone floating the river, do not shave your legs the day of...just a side note), witnessed some bead throwing, drunken frat boys, I have been pushed off my raft in the river, run over by my raft in a fast moving stream, all in all...great times have been had and everyone should float it at least once.

26. Visit the original hideaway in Stillwater, OK. Been here many of times. I did go to college in this town. The best pizza and Oklahoma's oldest, been in business since 1957.

27. Ride a horse. Have a rode a horse? Did my papa give me two ponies for my birthday one year? Mind you one was completely blind and the other one was evil. I think my family was born riding horses.

28. Go to a Drive-in Movie. First drive in movie I ever watched was "The Flinstone Movie". There is something so nostalgic about drive in's.

29. Yacht Grand lake. I haven't Yachted...but I have boated in Grand. Same thing right? Ski boated that is.

and last but not least...

30. Sample the Haute Cuisine at Stillwater's Annual Calf Fry. I have sampled it, even ranch dressing doesn't make Calf Fries taste good. I have had my share of fun times though at this annual event.

All in all...I think 30 things out of 77 isn't too bad right? I'd say, I am a genuine bonified Okie.

Seriously though, if y'all ever visit my home state, I highly recommend you partake in these activities and many more that we have to offer and while you are here, take in an Oklahoma sunset...it's one of our best features.

It's Best Friends day

Happy Best friends day y'all!

I feel as though I need to take the time and have a shout out to my besties...even though I have written about them eh, once or twice or ten thousand times, but hey..it's a national holiday...so you kinda have to,right?

And here I thought I was a true Oklahoman

There is a magazine that comes out monthly I believe...it's simply titled, "Oklahoma Magazine." Original, huh? I like to look through it just to see what's new, sometimes it highlights famous Oklahomans and has reviews for new restaurants or concerts and what not.

This month, they have "The Oklahoma bucket list: 77 things every Oklahoma should do." I thought this would be pretty interesting, so I checked it out...let's see just how many I have done.

Are you just dying to know what every Oklahoma should do or every visitor of the Okie state should do? Well, here goes it...I am sure you so wanted to know this. By the way I am only listening the ones I have done. For a full list visit this website www.okmag.com

1. Buy your own western wear. I have most definitely done this...if you don't own at least one pair of cowboy boots...then you really aren't a true okie in my book. I grew up in a "cowboy" family, however, I like to just sport some cowboy boots with dresses...perfect for concerts and what not.

2. Eat fried chicken at Eischen's bar. Y'all no lie, this place is hands down the best fried chicken you will ever eat. I went to college in Stillwater (best college in Oklahoma btw) and most generally everyone who went there knew where Eischen's was and hopped in the truck with some good ol' country boy and went and ate some fried chicken. It's located in a tiny tiny town called Okarche. It has been featured on the Food Networks, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It's seriously that good.

3. Go Noodling. I have not done this nor do I care to do this, but I know lots of people who have including baby brother. I think this is the dumbest most redneck thing to do and not to mention dangerous. Basically, if you don't know what it is, noodling is a type of fishing where you literally stick your arm in a hole underwater (in lakes or rivers) and hopefully pull out a huge ass fish. Let me tell you they really do get some big fish...but is it worth it. No! There are copperhead snakes living in those holes that will bite you and kill you and beavers living in those holes. You couldn't pay be enough money in the entire world to stick my arm in a hole that I can not see what's in it and let a fish freakin grab on to my arm. No thank you. It's dumb. Do I sound a little harsh?  Here is my cousin...I stole this picture from his facebook, but this is a result of noodling...it's a big fish, but not worth it in my opinion. Could you imagine that grabbing on to your arm. No thank you!

4. Chase a tornado. No thanks...not going to do it. I am perfectly fine stepping out on my front porch watching the tornado like most Oklahomans, but I am not chasing one. I freak out just thinking about it.

5. Buy an Okie t-shirt.  I have done this and it wasn't just an OSU t-shirt.

6. Hunt for rose rocks. This is our state rock. I have hunted for these in elementary school...I had one at one point. Who knows where it's at now.

7. Visit a museum.  I have been to the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City and the Will Rogers Memorial which is located in the town I am from. If you are ever in Oklahoma, I highly recommend visiting both of these museums.

8. Run into Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Sadly, I have not run into them. I am the only one who hasn't I think. They are often seen in my hometown and the town right next to it. I will see them one day...I just know it. People who have seen them say they are the nicest, most down-to-earth people. I always like to hear that about celebs.

9. Launch a spontaneous hootenanny. If by hootenanny you mean a party. Then yes, I have done this. Go me!

10. Celebrate Bob Wills' Birthday at Cain's Ballroom. While I haven't celebrated his birthday per say at the Cain's ballroom. I have gone to many a concert's there. I have seen many many artist there...in fact one time I was there for banquet fundraiser and Cross Canadian Ragweed just happened to drop by and check out the place because they were performing their live DVD there next weekend. Ya, I chit chatted with them for awhile and got my picture taken. I would post it, but it's on a different computer.

11. Eat your weight in Chicken Fried Steak. I have done this probably a thousand times. It is for sure a staple in any Oklahoma family dinner. I love me some good ol' chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. Bring on the clogged arteries.

12. Survive Oktoberfest.  This is held in Tulsa and is a grand ol time. Never in my life have I done the chicken dance so much.

13. Catch a foul ball on ONEOK field. I haven't caught a foul ball yet, but I do go watch the drillers play and it is a very nice ball park. It's brand new.

*****14. This gets astrix because this is my favorite and not only have I "walked around" I have partaken ( is that a word) in the making of this tradition...The OSU Homecoming Walkaround. Let me just explain. OSU ( my Alma mater...GO POKES) puts on the biggest homecoming celebration there is. Walkaround is put on by the Greek system. I was in a sorority. What we do are house decks. We take tissue paper and chicken wire and make pretty pretty designs. You pair up with a fraternity and they display the art in their yard and they do all the welding of the structure and thousand and thousands ( literally) come to walkaround and look at it. All the streets shut down. It's the best time of the year. I love it. The part I don't love, pomping(the process of shoving tissue paper into chicken wire) and staying up the night before for 24 hour pomp. I believe this deserves a post in and of it's own.

15. Ride the silver bullet at Frontier City. Frontier City is an amusement park located in OKC. Silver bullet is a roller coaster. I went all the time when I was younger.

16. Eat the unhealthiest item at the State fair. Umm...would it be a state fair if there wasn't fried butter on a stick, fried cheese on a stick, fried oreo's? No...the only reason to attend the fair is the fair food that and people watching. That should be on the Oklahoma bucket list...the crazies come out y'all. P.S. I have tried these foods all except the fried butter...GROSS.

17. Bass fishing at Lake Keystone. Maybe I haven't fished at Lake Keystone..but I have done my fair share of bass fishing. I have my own fishing pole. It's pink.

18. Relive Ranch days. I don't have to relive it. I have lived it. Thanks.

19. Count the Mullets at Rocklahoma. I haven't gone to Rocklahoma, which is an outdoor rock concert. But trust me when I say this...I have seen my fair share of mullets. When we people learn...they are not in style Billy Cyrus. Not in style.

20. Attend a Bedlam Football Game. If you have never gone to one, you must do it. This state is seriously divided between the best school, Okahoma State University and the other school. GO POKES!!!!!!!!!

Apparently, I have done more of these bucket list items than I thought...I will continue with these on another post...
