Looking back on 2011

As we get closer and closer to the New Year...I figured I would do a little re-cap of all things 2011. Is it just me or did 2011 go by incredibly fast? Like lightening speed fast.

So, without further adieu...I give you 2011...Blonde Oklahoma girl style.

Ringing in 2011 with some of my favorite people in Ft. Worth, Texas. Billy Bob's...I love Ft. Worth,  I love Billy Bobs, and I love cowboys.

The day we flew back, Sara G...in the top picture found out she was pregnant with little Miss Mia.

Oh and before we end with January...we had a little thing I like to call a FREAKING BLIZZARD....where I was stuck inside for days, how many I don't remember. If I learned anything at all, it's to stock up on the wine.

February, Miss Football flew in for little linebackers first birthday and we all got to spend some best friend time together, with dinner, wine and a hockey game.

A wedding...at a hockey game?? Yes, it happened. The mascot was his best man and the cheerleaders were her bridal party.

March...I spent some good quality time with my favorite people, Nana and Papa and celebrated Papa's birthday.

April...baby brother turned the big 18

and we celebrated by taking him to his first Calf Fry in Stillwater.

May...baby brother graduated high school...so proud of him.

June was pretty low key...actually very hot...so my days were spent at the lake or pool.

July brought my momma's birthday and a camping trip for the girls over the Fourth of July....no pictures...but it was a blast!!

I also squeezed in a little NKOTBSB concert....my thirteen year old self was very happy that day.

At the end of July, the BFF's and I took a girls weekend trip to San Francisco...where we went wine tasting in Napa and ran in a little thing called the San Francisco Marathon. Three of us participated in the progressive 5K...but Miss Football ran her first Half-Marathon and we were all their to cheer her on.

I sang a little Karaoke

Our half-marathoner

Here's to my first half happening in 2012!!

August...I celebrated turning the big 27 in Kansas City with my mom, bestie and bestie's mom.

Little miss Mia was born in September...remember the friend who found out she was preggers on New Year's day...

Sporting her favorite school.

October..world's greatest homecoming celebration in my favorite town, at my favorite school, with some of my favorite people...

Oktoberfest party....

and just to add it in...not sure what month it was...but we had an EARTHQUAKE...several actually. Weirdest thing I have ever experienced.

November...Thanksgiving spent with the ones I love the most...my mom, nana and papa and baby brother. Fun times playing dominos. I seriously need to take more pictures....New Year's resolution...take more pictures.

December....Oklahoma State University beat the other school in Bedlam to become BIG XII CHAMPS FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!!!

The best friends who were at the game...sadly I was not...but that's ok because I was waving my wheat from the comfort of my home, where it wasn't freezing cold.

Christmas....spent with my family...once again I have no pictures...and NYE 2012 will be spent on the mountains snow skiing!!

Looking forward to all the amazing, wonderful things to come in 2012!!

Last day in San Francisco

I think I have been putting off the last post about my trip to San Francisco because I am in denial that it's over and that I have been back in the real world for a week now.

I have post vacation blues.

That and I left 50 degree weather and came back to scorching 114 degree temps.

I still haven't recovered yet.

So, here it is the very last day of the most amazing trip ever.

You may know the real reason we went to San Francisco was to run in the San Francisco Marathon. Three of did the progressive and we ran a 5k, but Miss Football is a rock star and ran the half marathon.

Yes, rock star.

This is us at 5:00 in the morning catching the bus to the race, we didn't run until about 7:45 or so, but we had to see Miss Football off. Please excuse the no make-up.

Before the race...

We saw Miss Football off and we were waiting to get a picture of her as she was starting the race, we found her and she had this panic look on her face, she yelled at us that her ipod isn't working. Like dead. As in the two girls who used her computer the night before to sing Karaoke were supposed to have charged it and somehow it didn't get charged.

She ran 13.1 miles without music.

I can't even run 3 miles without music.

She also ran 13.1 miles with Amy Winehouse's song "Rehab" in her head.

No...no...no...

Our rock star

After the race we all celebrated with breakfast...but mainly we were there for the post race mimosa's

Then we spent the rest of the day walking the city...because that's what you do after you run, you walk an entire freaking city.

It's amazing what a shower, make-up and non sweaty clothes can do for a person.

We went to where the "Full house" house is...it made for the perfect photo op

It wouldn't be a girls trip without representing our Alma Mater

Photo shoot in the park...why not?

After all the paparazzi we headed out to Pier 39 for you guessed it more photos

Probably my favorite picture of us ever and you can't even see our faces...

Lastly we ended the night with the best Italian food I have ever had at Pinocchio's

It was the perfect day to end the perfect girls weekend.

I love these girls with all my heart and I am so incredibly blessed to call them my best friends....here's to many many more girls weekends!

Picnic and farmer's market

Happy Friday!

I plan on doing nothing this weekend, but catching up on my sleep from my fabulous vacation, which we are re-capping.

So, on to day two of the BEST.TRIP.EVER.

Missed day one, the trip to Napa, Sonoma and Karaoke...go here.

If you would like to see another version of our trip, in better detail : ), visit Miss Football at her blog.

Saturday we got to sleep in. Thank goodness. This girl was tired. All day wine tasting the day before, all night Karaoke the night before...sleep was definitely a must.

So, after a yummy breakfast of waffles and orange juice us girls loaded up our stuff and headed into the city where would we change hotels.

On our way to see the city by the bay

We went to the part of the city were we would actually be doing our race on Sunday.

Picture with the Bay bridge

We tried on hats....

and masks...even though the sign clearly stated..."No trying on masks."

We're rebels like that.

This is where we went to the best farmers market I have ever been to. Hands down. Every single piece of fruit tasted amazing, there were fresh flowers all over. If I lived in San Francisco for any reason at all, it would be because of the farmer's market. Seriously.

We then went straight from the Farmer's market to pick up our registration packets for the big run on Sunday...that is the real reason why we were there after all.

After we bought all of our yummy goodies for a picnic we rode the street car down to the beach at the Wharf for a beach picnic...which was better said than done btw. No one wants sand on their food.

No one said the water in San Fran was warm....

In honor of our new moniker...the "Gossip Girls"

Picnic on the bench

Ghiradelli Square...home of the best chocolate

Attempting some "xoxo" pictures... some of us are better at it than others : )

We had plans of going to the nude beach and to Castro...but somehow time got away from us and that didn't happen. Oh well, gives us an excuse to go back another time, right?

This day was basically just spent relaxing and chilling before the big race the next day. In fact we went and had a lovely little Italian dinner and we were all in bed by 11:00.

Well some us, two of us were still feeling the Karaoke and decided to serenade the other's to sleep.

They appreciated it. They really did.

Next day we were up early headed towards the race...

Xoxo,

Gossip Gal.
