Little bit of this and that

Hey girls!

The weekends just are never long enough, are they? I sooo did not want to get out of bed this morning.

I don't really have a lot of interesting or entertaining things to say today, because I lead a rather boring life. This weekend I did a whole lotta nothing. I ran, did some arms/legs....every time I want to stop doing those damn lunges and squats, I must remember one thing err two things...

Carrie Underwood legs. It's my new mantra...Carrie's legs.

I also did a killer ab work out, and when I say killer I mean, it hurts to laugh, to move, to do anything really involving my abs. I did this video...let's hope I get a six-pack in six weeks...as much as my abs hurt today, I might not be able to do another crunch again.

Let's talk football, shall we. My boys, are just kicking ass and taking names. I am always proud to be an Alum of Oklahoma State University, but OM double G, I have never been more proud of my boys than I am right now. Yes, they are doing extremely well and playing some mad football. We did roll over those Raiders this weekend 66-6 and this makes us 10-0. We have never in the history of OSU football been 10-0 and we are ranked #2 in the nation. NUMBER 2!!

And this week Brandon Weeden (our QB) is in the lead for the Heisman. Un-freaking-believable.

photo -

I don't know what is more unbelievable, OSU being ranked #2 or me knowing this much about football.

Ok, well...that's all for now ladies..I have to run because these guys in my clinic or talking football and I need to go offer my two cents.

Miss Football, you should be proud!

GO POKES!!!!

Real hero's don't wear capes...they wear dog tags

First and foremost, I wouldn't even be able to post a blog if it wasn't for our men and women who fight for our freedom everyday.

Thank you to all Veterans, past and present, who risk their lives day in and day out for my family, myself and others.

YOU are the real heros

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

In other news it's FRIDAY...WOO to the HOO!!

and...it's 11-11-11. If I was engaged...haha, I don't even have a boyfriend, I would so want to get married on a fun day like today, I knew several and when I say several, I mean more like a 100 people who got married on 7-7-7. I had so many wedding invitations they took up the whole front of my fridge. Needless to say,I am no superwomen so I didn't attend them all.
Maybe my luck will turn around, I mean...wouldn't you think 11-11-11 is a lucky day, and just maybe I will meet my future husband today and  then we can get married on 10-11-12.

A girl can dream,right?

In less than seven weeks, I, along with Miss Football...will be hitting the slops over NYE...so EXCITED! Part of the reason I started a killer diet/exercise routine is to get in shape for the slopes. I don't want to fall down a mountain. Today, I came across an article from Shape magazine about exercises you need to do to get ready for some ski slope action.

So, Miss Football...listen up. You need to be doing these too...

  • If your gym has a BOSU, try using it for some very effective exercises: balance on one foot on the top of the BOSU while doing bicep curls, or start with both feet on the floor and alternate toe taps in quick succession, aiming for the top point of the BOSU.

  • All of these balance ball exercises are a great way to challenge yourself. My favorite is the Balance Challenge; it's an easy way to take notice of your progress, and it's fun to have a friendly competition with a gym buddy about who can stay on the longest.

  • Take a few minutes every day while you're brushing your teeth or watching TV to stand on one foot, with your other foot raised just barely above the ground. Sounds easy, but if you haven't been maintaining your balance it can be hard! Once you've mastered that, add some arm circles into the mix, and close your eyes.

  • Invest in a balance board. If you're serious about your balance, keep one of these around and pull it out when you have a few minutes for an effective lower-body muscle strengthening and balancing session.

  • Up your Pilate's or yoga routine. Yoga poses and Pilate's exercises are great for working on your balance and strengthening your core. We like the leg pull back from Pilate's mat class and the Warrior 3 pose.

  • Hope these are useful, I will be implementing them into my normal routine. Anyone else going snow skiing over the holidays, maybe we will be at the same place??

    Have a great Friday loves!

    I'm loving today

    Happy Wednesday!!

It's time for a little What I'm loving today

I am having sort of a love/hate relationship with Jillian Michael's. I did her latest workout video for all things lower body. Killer buns and thighs is what it's called. Let me tell you...it works! I can hardly move any muscle of my lower half today. SO SORE!! But I like it, because it's a good score and I know I will have an ass you can bounce a dime off in no time..I mean, let's hope so anyway.

I'm loving that the CMA's are on tonight. LOVE me some country music. Can't wait to see all the dresses, who wins what, the performances and I love that Brad and Carrie host the show...they work so well together and are hilarious.

Of course I am rooting for some fellow Okies and hope they win big time tonight. Go Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert!

Speaking of Miranda Lambert...Song number 5, "Mama's broken heart" off her new CD has been on re-play for the past couple of days now. I just can't get enough of this song. LOVE IT!

    Favorite line of the song

Go and fix your make up, girl it’s just a break up
Run and hide your crazy and start actin’ like a lady
'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together
    Even when you fall apart
But this ain’t my mama’s broken heart

and you better believe that I am loving my COWBOYS who are ranked NUMBER 2!! GOOO POKES

    (Photo courtsey of Miss Football)

And of course, I am loving all of you!

    Earthquakes, tornadoes, and planners...Oh My!!

Only in Oklahoma do we experience Earthquakes and Tornadoes. Yes, that is right...last night we had Tornado warnings and I experienced my second earthquake ever...I don't know whether to hide in a door way for the earthquake or take shelter underground for the tornado...so I just chose to sit on my couch...I mean, really what else are you supposed to do.

I successfully completed day one of my no-nonsense diet and I started my kick butt work out routine. Let me tell you, I can barely lift my arms over my head this morning. All in all, I would say I did a dang good job...I also resisted temptation because a couple of months ago I ordered these chocolate thin mint teaser things from the Girl Scouts and of course they come in the DAY I decide to not eat sugar. I resisted that temptation and I hid it, yes, I realize I know where I hid it...but I have to go through a lot of stuff to get to it, and really I don't want to have to do that.

    Go me!

So, the most exciting thing to happen to me lately...besides experiencing my first earthquakes is receiving the most amazing planner in the entire world in the mail this past Saturday.

Yes, my life has been that boring.

Well, ladies I have heard several of y'all talk about your Erin Condren life planner and well...I found a sale on that bad boy and ordered me one. OH. MY. WORD....it is amazing. I am so in love with it!

I used to be somewhat of an organization freak. In college, I was so OCD when it came to my studies and especially when it came to my planner. My mortar board. At my university,we had a planner that would come out at the beginning of every fall semester. It was the planner of all planners and for OCD people like me...it was pure heaven. Nothing and I mean nothing got done unless I had written it in my Mortar Board. I was that girl that had a particular highlighter for tests, papers, projects, Greek stuff, etc.

Yes, sometimes I have nerd like tendencies.

I was borderline crazy about that thing...but so were a lot of people. Everyone loved their mortar boards. In fact, after college no planner I got ever compared to it...so I stopped writing things down...and I love writing my to do lists down, I like the feeling of crossing something off my list, I like the feeling of being accomplished.
One of the reasons I chose to order this planner is because you can choose a planner that supports whatever cancer awareness organization you would like. In fact, if you choose to go with a planner that supports a cancer organization, Erin Condren will donate 25.00 from the sale and apply to whatever organization you would like.

You know what's awesome, is that I checked my personal donation page...and Erin Condren already made a 25.00 donation. How great is that.

As y'all may or may not know, I am the event co-chair for my local Relay for Life for 2012...which requires major organization and if I don't write everything down, I may go crazy...I already have post it notes everywhere...it's pretty much chaos. I am pretty excited about this planner because I got to choose the color of it and Relay for Life's signature color is purple...which stands for hope and it just so happened to be one of the two colors to choose from...the other being pink, for breast cancer.

So if y'all are looking for a planner for 2012 and wanting to donate to a good cause, you should for sure check her out. She doesn't disappoint!

That's all I got for today ladies...have a good one!

P.S. I just want to give a shot out to all my new followers. Y'all are awesome and if I haven't already stopped by your blog, I will do so! Love y'all!!

    Dear Monday

    Dear Monday,

Please be good to me. Today is the first day of my no-nonsense diet...which means I did not start out my morning with my wonderfully delicious pumpkin spice latte that contains 35 grams of sugar. Instead, I opted for some organic green tea. It's good, yes...but I am thinking I need that jolt of 35 grams of sugar...it completes me and it also contributes to my fat ass and flabby arms...which in the long run is the reason I DO NOT NEED that pumpkin spice latte.

Also, please help me to refrain from seriously punching someone in the face this morning...yes, it has been that kind of morning.

Thank you and I am really looking forward to Tuesday.

    Yours Truly,
    Lyndse

I feel the earth move under my feet

That's right ladies...I FELT the earth move under my feet for the first time ever last night. Scared me to death. Apparently, my little ol' state has been having earthquakes lately...actually, I guess we have them all the time but never are really able to feel them.

Well, let me tell you...last night, I felt it.

First things first lets start with the fact that my Cowboys nearly gave me a heart attack last night with that game. Holly freakin cow, we could not play defense for the life of me. I am thinking some of those players needed to read my Football 101 post.

Needless to say, K-State gave us a run for our money, but thankfully our boys pulled it off and we are still 9-0 baby. 9 and 0.

Afterwards, I was on the phone with Miss Football, discussing all things football and how we most definitely could have done a better job then some of our players and I was telling her about how earlier that morning we had an earthquake but I didn't feel it. And BAM just as I was saying I didn't feel it...my whole house started shaking, it was so unreal. Nothing I have ever experienced. All the while my house is shaking, I just continue to sit on the couch talking on the phone...I live in Tornado country y'all...not earthquake country, I have no idea what to do when the ground freakin shakes.

    I'm an okie girl..not a Cali girl.

So, not only do we have to worry about Tornadoes we now have Earthquakes. Thank goodness we aren't surrounded by an ocean.

In other news, I have decided to cut the crap out of my diet. Literally. Between Halloween and eating all those "fun size" candy bars...which in reality aren't that fun...my whole body is out of whack. I've been eating dairy(I'm not supposed to...I have a dairy allergy) and I have been getting headaches, so I am thinking it must have to do with what I have been eating.

Starting tomorrow, this girl enters a no nonsense approach to eating. Which means, tonight...I feast!

Yes, probably not the most conventional way of starting out a diet, but I have half a bottle of wine in the fridge, some apple pie left and I can't let those go to waste.

I'm trying to be cost effective here.

It's the right thing to do...because starting tomorrow, no more wine for this girl or chocolate or anything with sugar...sad, right? It's just for a little while though...trust me, I can't cut that stuff out for too long. I will add it back in with moderation of course.

Well, loves...between this daylight savings time change and the wine I'm drinking...this girl is tired. Hopefully I can get a good nights sleep...sans earthquakes.

    Peace out lovies!
