A little random for your Monday

Happy Monday!! I feel as though if I through in the word "Happy" before Monday it might make Monday feel not so bad...no?

This post is going to be all over the place today...scatterbrain Monday I guess.

First things first...this weekend myself, bestie and our mom's got together to celebrate bestie's mom's 50th birthday. She might kill me for saying that on this here blog, but if she didn't kill us for making her wear a sombrero while the mariachi band sang her Happy Birthday...then I think I may be ok.

We celebrated at Los Cabos and then afterwards we all went out on the town...we all had a great time and I think she had a wonderful birthday!

This weekend I had all sorts of plans to start working out, the weather was perfect outside on Saturday...beautiful day for a run...did I go for a run? No...of course not, because once again my couch potato ass got sucked into another reality show.

Have y'all seen Texas Multi Mama's? It's awesome. It's like any of the Real Housewives, but with mom's who have multiple babies. For like three hours I caught up on this show and now have scheduled to my already full DVR.

Some of these mom's are 30 and gave birth to 4 babies.

4 freakin babies at a time...I am 27 and that just seems crazy to me.

Also, I caught up on my Mob Wives...absolutely love that show. Those ladies are fierce...I would not want to mess with any of them..no sir.

Speaking of TV...who loves One Tree Hill?? This girl!! I am so super pumped that it comes back for it's last season....tear...but Lucas is back...Holla!!

Today I started back entering my food into Myfitnesspal. It's time to get started...I mean, nine days into the new year, it's probably about time I did something about those dang resolutions.

Hmm...what else...oh, I have finally decided to re-do my bedroom, actually I have been wanting to re-do it for quite sometime, I just didn't know what I wanted to do..but thanks to Pinterest...I have a TON of ideas.

Hopefully, I will be able to execute them...pictures to come as soon as I start it.

Procrastination at it's finest.

That's all the randomness I have for now...have a wonderful day friends!!

Happy Anniversary

I just realized that one year ago today...I wrote my very first blog post ever. I had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into.

I still don't know what I am doing.

Before I started blogging I had no idea that it was even still popular, I mean I remember the days of xanga, back when I was like in junior high...I never even got into that. Miss Football had started a blog about a year or so before I did, and I loved reading it everyday. She had tried and tried to convince me to start one, it wasn't until I decided that my New Year's resolution last year was to document everything I was doing....sort of a virtual diary if you will.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think blogging would become more than just a diary for me. If you would have told me that I would develop friendships with ladies I had never met before(I guess technically I still haven't met them)...I would have said you were crazy.

How could you have such a great relationship with a stranger? But that's just it, us bloggers are not strangers We allow each other into our lives by simply just sharing what is going on in our own little world. I never knew that people would actually care what this blonde Oklahoma girl was up to or even what I had to say.

It goes both ways too. I LOVE reading y'alls blogs and getting to know you, and what's going on in your world...maybe it's because I am nosey...but mainly it's because I care about y'all and we care about each other.

Bloggers are there with you when you are celebrating a new job, buying a house, sharing your journey on getting married, having a baby or for us single gals out there....it's just nice to know that there are other girls out there that are going through exactly what I'm going through.

It's nice to have a sounding board.

I love this blogging community...and I look forward to getting know more of y'all.

So, here's to another year of blogging, another year of adventures, and another year of sharing all of life's craziness.

Thank you all so much for being so sweet to me while I started this journey...I truly love each and one of you!!

Slacker...that would be me.

So, I have been majorly slacking on any and all of my New Year's resolutions...I mean I just now feel like I am finally back in the groove of things and it's Thursday...five days into the new year.

Which reminds me that January 5 is my uncle's b-day...I should send him a card.

Moving on

I feel like Jillian Michael's is stalking me. I mean, she's haunting me in my dreams. I dreamt of her last night and how she was yelling at me to get my fat ass out of bed and to drop and give her twenty. I can't even do twenty push-ups..I mean I can, but I have to do them the girly way.

She is bombarding my email. She is all over it. Her and self magazine advertising for the Jump Start 2012 diet and exercise plan.

I wake up in the morning and go to turn on the TV and there sits my Jillian Michael's DVD collection.

OK...OK...I get it, Jillian.

I will freakin' start to work out.

Geez...you don't have to be so mean about it.

Next, I am going to have a dream about Martha Stewart wanting me to get all organized and start putting my pinterst finds to good use or something like that.

Ski Trip and New Year's

Well...hello...it's so nice to be back in the blogger world. Boy have I missed it and y'all.

I am telling you, vacation throws a loop in everything..but it is so nice to get away sometimes...especially to the mountains. I love the mountains...we have an amazing God and sometimes we take his beauty for granted but that is most definitely impossible when you are in a place like this.

Mountain Sunset

Mountain Sunrise

I went to Red River, NM with Miss Football and her family and friends. They have this annual ski trip and this time I went. Let me tell you...I had a blast!!

In case you missed my post about our first night...go here...we arrived to late to ski, so we partook in a few drinks and snow tubing. So much fun.

After tubing we then ate at this really amazing restaurant called Timbers. If y'all are ever in Red River..I highly recommend eating here. I had the Green Chili Chicken Alfredo...which was to die for, but the men of the trip had the prim rib..let me tell you...mouth watering.

Miss Football and her dad

After dinner we taught the older men how to Facebook...it was quite interesting.

The next day it was time to hit the slopes...the weather was perfect...the slopes were perfect...and I remembered how to ski...which was good, not perfect.

Alright...so the skiing begins, I do pretty well...considering I haven't been skiing in like 10 years and the last time I went skiing, I got skied down in a body bag and got a second degree burn on my face. Yes, ladies I wasn't aware that I needed sunscreen...but this time I would like to report no injuries(at least not a big one) and no sunburned face.

Phew.

Down to skiing.

This photo was taken right after I ran into a tree...well, not really ran into a tree...but I was skiing in the tree's vicinity and screamed,"Oh, no a tree...I'm going to hit a tree!" Then I stopped right in front of it...like literally reached my arm out to stop from hitting the tree.

And before I almost fell off the mountain...

I really am good at skiing.

Promise.

Here is a picture of me and my buddy...I had no idea this kid was skiing next to me, those kids are good and fast and they don't care if you get in their way...I had to have a word with some of them.

This would be Miss Football skiing "The face" of the mountain. This is the part of the mountain that is the only black diamond and it's right in front of the Lift bar, so everyone can either watch you succeed at going down the mountain or fall. Trust me there were some pretty good crashes...Miss Football succeeded though...that is until I yelled at her telling her good job...then she bit it...at the bottom.

"What just happened?"

Shortly after this, I ventured away from the group and slid down a patch of ice and twisted my knee...I was out the rest of the day..but made up for it by nursing myself with a few drinks at the Lift bar...not a bad way to end a day.

Afterwards we rang in the New Year at this fun little bar in Red River...

(If your wondering why I am holding on to my jacket...it's because I had the bright idea to sneak my beer out of the bar)

I had the best time, meet some really great people, got to spend the holiday with one of best friends, got some great skiing in...wonderful way to ring in the 2012.

Now, if only I can get started on those resolutions, we would be in business.

Playing catch up

Happy New Year ladies!!

Can you believe it is 2012...does not seem like it at all...actually I couldn't even tell you what day it is much less what year it is.

Can I just say that since I have been on vacation and away from my computer...I literally have been lost without reading all of y'alls blogs. I just need to get back to my normal daily routine...but I have been playing catch up all day long...having just flown back to Home Sweet Oklahoma yesterday and getting no sleep thanks to my AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL BCS BOWL WINNING COWBOYS keeping me up most of the night with that game...I am running on very little sleep and loads of caffeine.

Not to mentioned I haven't even begun to thank about my New Year's resolutions. It's kinda hard to get in a work out routine when you aren't at home, you know? Or get organized and all the other fifty resolutions I have.

Once I gather my thoughts and get some much needed Z's...I promise to be a much better blogger for 2012.

Speaking of, I saw on Twitter that Jimmy Fallon called it 20dozen. I kinda like it.

Any who...I have more Ski Trip/ New Year's to blog about and lots of other fun "New Year" stuff to talk to y'all about.

I hope all you ladies had a great New Year and I can not wait to read all about it!

Ski Trip in progress

Hey y'all...

I am blogging to you today from Red River, New Mexico, home of the Ski Trip 2011-2012.

Since one of my New Year's resolutions, even thought I didn't write it on the post yesterday, is to take more pictures...thought I would go ahead and share with y'all..Ski Trip thus far.

Yesterday, Miss Football and I road tripped it in with the normal road trip staples....sour gummy worms, peanut butter M&M's, and musics....lots and lots of music.

I took a million pictures of the mountains...you would think I have never seen them before, but living in Oklahoma it's definitely nice to see a different landscape.

Yesterday we arrived to late to ski, so we opted to snow tube instead. So much fun, and it's perfect for people who might not like to ski.

Here's a few pictures of us pre-gaming at the Lift house bar.

That's all for now ladies...I have to go get ready because the slopes open in one hour...and of course we want to be the first one's on.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

New Year's Resolutions

With the New Year...comes New Year's Resolutions.

I've decided to actually stick to mine this year...that should be a resolution in itself...sticking to resolutions.

My main resolution is the standard for most people...getting in shape, being healthy. I have said it time and time again and I stick with it for the most part, but never really get to where I want to be weight wise or toned wise. But this year....

Pinned Image

that's right. I will own you, 2012. Get ready...because it's on.

Like Donkey Kong.

Yes, I just said that.

* Get to my healthy weight. I don't want to say on here that I need to lose x amount of lbs. Because really when you get down to it, it's not about how much you weigh...it's about how healthy you are. Also, remember that muscle weighs more than fat...so when you are working out and wanting that toned body, think Jillian Michael's toned....you are gonna be a little heavier on the scale...but that's ok, because you will be toned and tighter.

And toned and tighter is good...very good.

Plus, I have been at an unhealthy to low of a weight before, it's one of the reasons I chose my degree, Nutritional Sciences, I don't want to be anorexic skinny...I want to look and feel healthy and go about it the right way.

* Run my first half-marathon.
2012
Yes, I have being saying it for a couple of months now, but I mean it this time. In fact, I found out why my back bothers me so much while running. Apparently, I have one leg longer than the other??

Of course, I would.

It's no biggie really, lots of people have one leg longer or shorter than the other. It does however, make it difficult to run and you may never realize why you are hurting after a run, had no one ever told you otherwise. I may have to get a heel insert for my right shoe...we shall see how it goes, I am going to do more research on how this effects running.

* Start and stick to a budget. This one is very hard for me. I have been trying to put myself on a budget for years. It just doesn't work. My mom has tried, friends, etc. I may be hopeless when it comes to budgeting...but I am going to try me best...we shall see.

Pinned Image

Now, how does make-up, shopping, and dinner/drinks fit into this little piggy??

* Fall in love. Yes, call me a hopeless romantic or crazy or whatever. I realize this may be a difficult resolution, because clearly it involves another person, a person I clearly haven't even met yet...but here's to hoping for it to happen in a new year, right? Why not? I figure if I put it on there in the universe...it will happen...plus, I have a wedding board on pinterest and I would really really like to use it.
Pinned Image

* Try new adventures. Sky diving, going to Costa Rica, snorkeling, riding in a hot air balloon...you know things of that nature. It doesn't have to be big adventures...can be small ones like trying oysters..actually I don't want to do that one, because the thought of it just grosses me out. But you get the picture.

* Be more philanthropic. Yes, I volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Relay for life and it's my favorite charity and I love every single second of it, but there are other great charities to get involved in like the Make a Wish foundation. Miss Football is a wish granter...how cool does that sound?

* Be a better daughter, sister, friend, co-worker, blogger, volunteer, person in general. I want to be the best of me, I can be.

* and last but not least...to be happy...to take chances...to not settle for anything less than what I deserve...to be bold...to be chase dreams I didn't even know I had....

Look out 2012...because this blonde Oklahoma girl has big plans...
